Are there any #corporates or people wanting to give their #volunteering time to help our #socialenterprise Ethstat Ethical CIC hire more team members? We have three or four significant hires we need help with but in full transparency the fees paid could fund another homeless worker or ex inmate with a permanent position and we’re not at that stage in the business. Plus, we need help with job descriptions, ensuring we focus on the right values for the job and going through the interview process. I know it takes time and it’s a skill. We’ve got to where we are by being resourceful and we need to get our hiring spot on but some hands on support, allowing us to continue with business as usual would be absolutely incredible. Do you work in the public sector? It gives you such a great opportunity to make a difference, doesn't it?! Take a moment to think about what differences you're making in your role. Sometimes you'll see it every day at work. Sometimes the impact can be a point or two removed from your daily task list, but please know that your community is better off as a result of what you do. In my role, for example, finding amazing people helps us do amazing things. And if we can reduce cost-to-hire whilst we're at it, that's more money available for some pretty incredible projects too! We play the music a little too loud. We laugh all the time. We are silly and a little unconventional. (okay - I don't play hacky sack, but most people do.) 🔴 We aren't fancy. We are jeans and a logo-shirt kind of operation. 🔴 We have to wear closed toed shoes all the time (because a warehouse). 🔴 We work hard. Really hard. But we also talk to each other about pulling back and resting. These values apply to our volunteers and staff.
