The transition from internal combustion engine to electric changes everything, including the role of automotive service and repair businesses. International case examples suggest that revenue from servicing an electric vehicle is 42 per cent lower than the internal combustion engine equivalent. Businesses will need to think carefully about their next move. Following the success of our regional Electric Vehicle Business Transition workshops held late last year, MTA Queensland will be hosting a FREE online business capability workshop to help all automotive business owners across Queensland get the information required to prepare for the arrival of more electric vehicles. Business owners will leave the workshop better informed and with a tailored business plan to help them map out their future. Will you expand your business to accommodate EVs, continue to specialise in internal combustion engines, or be a mix of the two? To survive this transition it is critical to be ahead of the game and have a strategy for your business's future. Date: Tue, 23 April 2024 Time: 7:00am - 9:00am Microsoft Teams Find out more and register today! https://bit.ly/3U7kWY1 This program is proudly supported and funded by the Queensland Government under its VET Emerging Industries Program.

The Canadian government is moving to mandate all new vehicles sold in the country to be zero-emission by 2035. The Electric Vehicle Availability Standard, set for imminent announcement, aims to phase out new combustion vehicle sales. Starting in 2026, it stipulates 20% of new car sales as zero-emission, scaling up to 60% by 2030, and culminating in a 100% target by 2035. Automakers can earn credits for early electric vehicle contributions and infrastructure investment. This mirrors similar initiatives in the UK and several US states, marking a global transition toward electric vehicle adoption. #ElectricalVehicles #ZeroEmissions #RenewableEnergy #NetZeroTransition #Sustainability I Bloomberg

https://lnkd.in/e3pwHj85 We are organizing a seminar in Lund on the 6th of September about the competencies needed to implement electromobility on a large scale. Access the registration via the link. The investments that will be needed in charging infrastructure will be very large and decisions about the large-scale implementation of electric road networks and the expansion of stationary charging infrastructure, power generation, and grids will need to be made soon to facilitate the change to electric cars, trucks, and buses. The EU has legislated to ban the sales of petrol and diesel cars from 2035 and in some countries an even tighter time-plan has been set by some governments. Considering that large investments in power and charging infrastructure often take ten years to complete from idea to finished project, processes need to be started immediately. Who will need knowledge about the expansion needs and the alternative technologies and solutions that are available? Many and many also that have not yet realised they will become involved... Come and listen and discuss on the 6th of September!
