In an incredibly thought-provoking episode of our series, we had the honour of sitting down with Tharusha Wanigasekera and Asith De Silva from Dialog Axiata PLC's #sustainability division. Episode 17 took us into the heart of #technological innovation for good, showcasing how Dialog's remarkable initiatives are changing lives across Sri Lanka. 🌍💡 One of the most heartwarming stories shared was about their hearing enhancement #app, which, in a miraculous moment, enabled a child to hear her mother's voice for the first time in about 10 years. The sustainability efforts at Dialog Axiata go far beyond just one app - with a dedicated 12-member team, they're tackling critical issues from education support to disaster risk reduction, all while aligning with 6 of the #SustainableDevelopmentGoals. Their work is a testament to how #technology can indeed make the world a better place, ensuring no one is left behind. Dialog isn't just leading in the #telecommunications industry, they're pioneering a path to a more sustainable and #inclusive future. Their story is not just inspiring but a call to action for all of us to leverage technology in solving the world's most pressing problems. Listen to this impactful soundbite and join us in discussing to the awe-inspiring journey Dialog Axiata is on. 🎧✨ The full episode is now available on your favourite #podcast platform. #tech4good #Innovation #DialogAxiata #SocialImpact #SDG

Turn our pain into a game, so ideas are raised and then reshaped. Who gets to have a voice and how we create such a home for this to happen aren't just for the person who generates the ideas – they’re for the rest of us. Here's our episode with Bermet Suiutbekova https://lnkd.in/gB5DJD2f
This week, Bermet Suiutbekova joins Alejandro Crawford and me from Bishkek City, and we talk about who gets to have a voice for change. We discuss how social impact can be made on a global scale. Informative conversation here with Chris Hayes and Deepak Bhargava about organizing for social change. This quote from Deepak stood out to me: "We won't win if we don't get big enough, and getting big enough means interacting with people with lots of complicated and often objectionable views on things." For me, this speaks to my own worry that too many people in left-leaning social change work expect perfection from others, creating more of an exclusive club that keeps people out, rather than a growing movement that brings people in. Movements that succeed are those that grow, and those that grow are those that people want to be a part of. https://lnkd.in/eaFMRDbP
