This is a significant result to come out of the Scottish Solar Grid Forum, attended by Solar Energy Scotland, Scottish Government, SSE Distribution and Transmision, SP Energy Networks Distribution and Transmission, Ofgem and many other grid stakeholders, aimed at identifying and overcoming Scottish Specific barriers to deploying more cheap, clean solar energy.
There's much more work to do and collaboration in this forum will help us to achive more, faster.
🏴 We're thrilled to share that SSEN Transmission has increased the threshold for Transmission Impact Assessments (TIAs) in the north of Scotland from 50kW to 200kW, paving the way for faster and more efficient connections of renewable generation projects. This significant change will accelerate the integration of solar energy into the grid, thanks to the efforts of SSEN and Solar Energy Scotland (SES).
This update will not only accelerate the integration of solar energy into the grid but also contribute to Scotland's broader climate goals. By streamlining the connection process, SES and SSE Renewables are working together to create a more sustainable and resilient energy future.
