Over this past decade advocates blast legislature wrongly and push incorrect income comparisons blaming white people for the cause of poverty throughout America. The same advocates don't mention that of poverty whites account for 41% of all impoverished people to 70% of all people when "white alone" is is not used. How should WAGE be argued that all of Americans can agree on? What every American knows is that if a person achieved a High School Diploma and can Write, Read and do MATH AND stay far from trouble with the LAW you can develop a career in any role that does not require a college degree. That minimum requirement will eventually garner you a career in a rainbow of wages depending on what role for whom you choose to work for. Should those that are healthy be compared to the above ABSOLUTELY. The next group are non-PhD Diplomas. Should this group be compared to poverty? NO. Because you have to first achieve the 1st Group's achievement. The third Group are PhD Diplomas. This group likely spent over $100k and dedicated several years achieving their final degree(s). This Group should not be compared either to poverty, but is a comparison of the difference of incomes between qualifying lower degrees in the same fields. The problem with High School Dropout trajectories is that nobody talks about it. In Fact nobody talks about problems associated with not mastering writing or even how troubles with the law has a very negative effect on wages based on distrust. #californiabusiness #UCLA #Florida #Kentucky

Sexual violence, exploitation, and other forms of abuse inflicted on women (and girls) in socialist states are worse than what official records tell. Because of shortages and widespread poverty, in socialist economies it was commonplace for women, out of necessity, to let their bodies be used in exchange for food and other basic goods, services, or access. The moral and material damage that socialist systems do are so severe that even decades after abandoning it, the effects linger on and most formerly socialist societies continue to struggle. The fact that socialism remains popular worldwide despite the evil, brutally tyrannical, murderous, and destructive nature of socialist systems is a testament to the heavily politicized/statist character of prevailing education systems. Read this story: https://lnkd.in/exK_pz5y ——— Learn more about the nefarious nature of socialist and other statist systems: https://lnkd.in/eV-4fifa #africa #economics #socialism #history

Atlantic cape graduate, Stockton university pre service teacher. Studying to become a history teacher/educator. To understand the world today we must understand the world of the past
Poverty and education quality are linked together. Not having access to effective and high quality education limits the life opportunities and social mobility of young adults. In turn, being in poverty naturally limits children’s access to effective education in the first place. If we want to reduce poverty and the wealth gap in the U.S. and around the world, we need to ensure that every person regardless of class, gender, and race is able to receive an effective education. https://lnkd.in/e_GsiBJ6

#Populism as Dog-Whistle Politics: Anti-Elite Discourse & Sentiments toward Minorities- PDF: https://lnkd.in/gEJt5__d Radical right-wing candidates frequently rely on populist and ethno-nationalist claims to mobilize support for their political campaigns. While studies have examined the predictors of radical-right support and the consequences of populism for party politics, they have not considered the effects of populist discourse on voters’ attitudes—and particularly, how populism interacts with ethno-nationalism to increase the salience of exclusionary beliefs. Using online survey experiments, we examine whether exposure to populist political claims increases outgroup antipathy in the United States. In Study 1, we randomly assign respondents to three conditions featuring vignettes constructed from existing political speeches: a morally neutral argument, populist discourse targeting political elites, and a moral critique of immigration. We then assess respondents’ sentiments toward minority groups using feeling thermometers. Our results demonstrate that exposure to populist discourse alone results in less favorable views of immigrants and racial minorities (as well as elites) and that this effect is only partly moderated by partisan identification. In Study 2, we use a similar design to evaluate the link between economic populism common in radical-left politics and economic nationalism: the populist condition features a critique of economic elites, the nationalist condition presents moral critiques of countries competing for U.S. jobs, and the outcome variables measure sentiments toward these countries. While economic nationalism does lead to greater chauvinism, we find no comparable effects of economic populist language. These results suggest that the observed spillover effects in Study 1 are not a result of pre-existing attitudinal associations but rather of the bundling of #antielite talk with ethno-nationalism in public discourse, which has turned populism into a form of #dogwhistle politics. By demonstrating that populist appeals have the capacity to activate hostility toward minority groups, our study contributes to research on the mobilization of #politicaldisaffection and #ethnoracialresentment in contemporary politics.

New data has revealed disturbing ethnic inequalities in rates of financial hardship in the UK. In the three months leading up to the COVID-19 pandemic, nearly 40% of people surveyed from the Arab, Any Other background, and Mixed White and Black African background all reported that they had financial difficulties. This compares with 23% of people from the White British group. The data comes from #EVENSurvey, the largest survey of racism and ethnic/religious inequalities in Britain for over 25 years which is now available to all researchers via UK Data Service. More than ever, inequality is a pressing issue limiting economic growth in many areas across the UK. To determine the effect of inequality on development, it could perhaps be tackled at the potential cause rather than trying to correct a pre-existing issue. Today we share our insights into the Sure Start Scheme and the impact it did have addressing the roots of inequality.
