Many thanks to Carmela Tripaldi of ENAC and her team for hosting the Eurocontrol stakeholder outreach program for Italy at the premises in Rome yesterday where they were joined by their military colleagues as well as representatives from ENAV to discuss challenges facing European ATM systems in Europe and how Eurocontrol can support Italy 🇮🇹 The meeting confirmed the great cooperation between Italy and Eurocontrol and a number of reason including ✈️Network management and the preparation for summer 2024, ✈️Civil Military cooperation ✈️Sustainability ✈️innovation and business intelligence On innovation in particular there were also discussions on Italy’s plans for space operations 🚀and the development on test centres for new entrants and how Eurocontrol could play a major supportive role. #enac #eurocontrol #innovation #networkmanagement #sustainablity

At this year's Black Sea Defence and Aerospace (BSDA) exhibition in Bucharest, South Korean company Hyundai Rotem displayed its combat-proven K2 Black Panther main battle tank. This is the company’s proposal for the Romanian land forces, but Hyundai Rotem’s approach to Romania includes deep industrial cooperation as well. A few days before the defence exhibition in Bucharest, a demonstration of the K2 tank took place at one of the Romanian land forces’ ranges. The tests included manoeuvrability and firepower demonstrations of the K2. "We are open to the cooperation with the Romanian defence industry. In addition to the delivery of tanks that meet the demands of the modern battlefield, as Romania requires industrial cooperation for MBT production, we could involve Romanian companies in the K2 tank programme, which will benefit the Romanian economy," Euiseong Lee, Head of Strategy for Global Market of Hyundai Rotem, told Defence Industry Europe during the BSDA exhibition. Always a pleasure to sit down with Ayse Suberker at TRT World to share my thoughts on the recent defence cooperation blueprint signed between the UK and Turkiye. Why this development and why now? While some elements of the blueprint have been in the making for several years now, the most important driver is Turkiye's bid for Eurofighter Typhoon jets. It needs the UK to lobby Germany to allow the sale, which becomes critically important in an increasingly unstable security landscape; not to mention that Turkiye's own TF-X jets aren't sufficient and it's struggled to acquire American F-16s. Efforts to Acquire Second Batch of FA-50 for RMAF Will Begin "Soon" "At LIMA 2023 held on Langkawi Island last May, the Ministry of Defence and KAI signed an agreement for the purchase of the First Batch of 18 units of FA-50 Block 20 light fighter aircraft valued at approximately RM4 billion. The efforts to acquire the second batch of 18 units of FA-50 light fighter aircraft for the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) will begin "soon," as reported by sources to Defence Security Asia.
