HIRING | Improving the way orgs hire & treat talent through logical, ROI-driven talent solutions 💰 | Staffing & Recruiting | Avid Learner | Tech Junky 🤖 | Health & Fitness | Investor | Linguist | Environmentalist 🌳
Key Takeaways from the 2024 tech report from RH: 💻 Nearly two-thirds of tech leaders also said they have a skills gap in their department, and 62% said the skills gap has a greater impact now compared to a year ago. 💻 In a survey of 700 U.S. tech leaders at the director level or above, 55% said they anticipate staffing constraints will affect their priority projects in 2024. Beyond that, 51% said significant hiring challenges will result from a lack of applicants with the skills to support essential initiatives. *This is especially interesting, as it seems many companies are willing to let these constraints continue even if it delays projects. There is a larger emphasis on managers to assume a lot of the burden surrounding constraints. Not sure how long this will fly across the corporate landscape before burnout and turnover make a drastic impact impact.* The tech sector is still growing with a need for employees. It just depends on the size of the organization and the type of role. #AI is and will definitely shake things up, but our market is still strong with lots of opportunity at the Junior to senior level. #staffing #technology #hiringinsights

A Cautious Optimism: IT Hiring Sees Tentative Resurgence The narrative surrounding IT hiring has shifted in recent quarters. Xpheno's data, as highlighted in Beena Parmar’s article in ET this morning, reveals a cautiously optimistic trend – a sustained uptick in active talent demand across the tech sector. This follows a period of stagnation and, in some cases, contraction. Key observations we note: Gradual Improvement: IT talent demand has exhibited a 33% increase since December 2023. Notably, the tech sector collective has witnessed a 28% growth compared to the fiscal year's beginning. Focus on the Future: IT services, a key driver of this growth, is experiencing a notable rise (15-20%) in entry-level and mid-junior positions. This signals a strategic investment in the future workforce. Evolving Skill Sets: The surge in hiring within Digital and AI domains underscores the industry's growing emphasis on these critical capabilities. Room for Expansion: While positive, current tech talent demand remains below pre-pandemic peaks. However, with a potential reach of 200,000 by H2 2024, there's a guarded optimism for sustained growth. This tentative recovery presents a bifurcated opportunity. For skilled professionals, particularly those with in-demand digital and AI expertise, a broader spectrum of career openings is emerging. Employers, on the other hand, gain a renewed chance to secure the talent necessary to fuel innovation and propel their businesses forward. The question remains: Is this a cyclical upswing or a harbinger of sustained growth? Do share your insights and perspectives on this evolving landscape. https://lnkd.in/gqbBriGF #ITHiring #ITHiringReset #StrategicWorkforcePlanning #TechTalentAcquisition #FutureofWork #Xpheno #PeopleEffectChange
