#Leaving_talent_costs When a talented employee leaves, the company may need to spend money on advertising the job vacancy, conducting interviews, and onboarding a new hire. If the departing employee received training or development, their replacement may need similar training, incurring additional expenses. There's often a period of decreased productivity when a skilled employee leaves, as their duties may need to be distributed among the remaining team members until a replacement is found. The departing employee may take valuable knowledge and expertise with them, which can be difficult and costly to replace. If the employee is entitled to severance pay based on their employment contract or local labor laws, the company will need to budget for these payments. Once a replacement is found, there are expenses associated with bringing the new hire up to speed, including orientation, training, and potentially relocation costs. High employee turnover can negatively affect the morale and job satisfaction of remaining employees, potentially leading to further turnover or decreased productivity.
