Join me & the team at Grey Horse Communications for a fireside chat about defensive public relations and how we protect the future of women in leadership. Our conversation is inspired by a long chat with Leslie Feinzaig about her viral Fast Company essay, “All I Want for International Women’s Day: No more female founder takedowns.” https://lnkd.in/eJEEjTEP

Amplifying the voices of Black women. Dr. Mom. Founder of BSW Chronicles. Adjunct @ Purdue Global & SNHU
"Unapologetically Leading: The Black Women's Mixtape" is more than a platform, it’s a vibe and a community where we celebrate the stories and journeys of Black women leaders. Through centering their narratives, we aim to inspire connections and uplift voices that are often overlooked or stereotypically defined. "Unapologetically Leading" amplifies Black women by giving them space to take center stage and own their narratives and how they are shown to the world. Why the play on the word mixtape? Because we hope to curate an authentic and transparent look at their experiences, perspectives, and insights, noting that each narrative will be different, similar to the diverse tracks on your favorite album/mixtape. Ultimately, "Unapologetically Leading: The Black Women's Mixtape" isn't just about sharing stories; it's about reclaiming agency, and redefining what it means to lead unapologetically as a Black woman in today's world. If you are interested in sharing your story either through writing a piece or by being interviewed fill out the form below and share it with your network 💜 EDIT: This will close tomorrow at noon. #BlackWomenLeaders #CenteringBlackVoices #RedefiningLeadership #Leadership #Storytelling

I learned a lot during this webinar, and I know there is so much more to learn and practice, individually & collectively. My key take-aways: - #Neurodiversity- not everyone thinks and interacts with the world in the same way- some disabilities may not be as obvious as others, and everyone in the #recruitment process can benefit from understanding this when they work with candidates - The Social Model of #disability understands that in the right setting, a disability can actually be a STRENGTH! 💪 I love this. - Most importantly, I left this meeting touched by this rule of thumb: focus on Capability versus Disability - taking the time to figure out what someone is CAPABLE of! 🙌 Thank you Bev Weinberg, OTD & Donna Carroll for sharing your insights. & thank you to American Staffing Association & the Innov8tors for opening this up to the public. #inclusion #staffing #capabilities #neurodivergence

What If Advertising Was Built Around the Default Woman? Kiska Howell, Head of Business Leadership, DDB Chicago and Carrie Muehlemann, Head of People and Culture, DDB Chicago and Rodgers Townsend sat down with LBBonline - Little Black Book on what a truly woman-centric agency or industry would look like. Kiska proclaims: "Women supporting women is extremely powerful and absolutely necessary—but it’s not the answer to real change. Change will only come once the industry reflects the beautiful diversity of the world we create for—and the agencies that get there first will win," whereas Carrie mentions: "In my future world, I hope we strive for a human-centric industry. An industry that fully rewards and values the uniqueness everyone brings to the table. Inviting a wide range of thinkers, makers, doers and dreamers into our agencies." An industry focused on diversity and that is people-first is certainly an industry we can get behind. Appreciate both of their thoughts and inspiration on this International Women's Day.
