Yesterday I observed a riveting discussion led by Kevin Ellis, a distinguished PwC partner, on the role of cultivating lifelong learning for economic success!
Kevin explicated his thoughts on the evolving professional landscape and how technology can actually accelerate career progression, as the automation of certain tasks could mean that junior professionals take on higher responsibility work earlier on in their careers.
Another imperative takeaway was his belief that organisations such as PwC should closely collaborate with educational institutions to provide intensive insight into the skills that they seek from graduates. Theoretically, this should enable students to seamlessly integrate into the workforce, leading to increased competitiveness and more creative solutions for PwC’s clients.
Kevin acknowledges how he continues to learn and develop, even as a seasoned partner. He credits this to being surrounded by a plethora of innovative minds that challenge his ideas and contribute to solving a diverse variety of problems he faces, which has been a key driver of his success since adopting the role of alliance partner for the UK and Middle East in 2016.
I’d like to give thanks to The University of Nottingham for hosting this discussion. They have been able to attract the most forefront thinkers, which gives students like myself insightful knowledge that I can apply to aid my professional and personal development.
