#NGS has transformed the rate of insight generation for #PopulationHealth studies, providing a robust foundation for understanding genetic predispositions of disease. The question now is: where to look next? ▶️ Given the dynamic nature of disease, there is a need to extend studies in population health cohorts to include the discovery of dynamic #biomarkers such as metabolites, lipids, and proteins. ▶️ Next-gen #massspectrometry is now providing an efficient, scalable way to go #beyondthegenome to capture thousands of dynamic biomarkers, across thousands of samples at a time, to generate novel population health insights. ▶️ See how: https://lnkd.in/g73ngU9R

Proteins are the building blocks of the body. But can they be harmful to us? Well, they can! While most proteins are helpful to the body, some can give rise to diseases. One such protein is amyloid. Amyloidosis is a name given to a group of rare, serious, and systemic diseases that are caused by amyloid deposits. Hereditary or ATTR amyloidosis is a type of amyloidosis that occurs due to a mutation in the TTR gene. Though any organ in the body can be affected by hereditary amyloidosis, organs like the liver, kidney, heart, and nervous and digestive systems are more prone.
