Highlights from the Transatlantic Big Science Conference 2024 in Berlin! Our CEO, Matthias H. Tschöp, led an insightful session on pandemic preparedness, addressing global disease threats, and strengthening international scientific resilience during crises. 🔬🌍 We were joined by esteemed experts from the World Health Organization, EMBL, Brookhaven National Laboratory, and CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations) for this crucial discussion. The Transatlantic Big Science Conference aspires to create opportunities to renew and reinvigorate historic collaborations between scientists and organizations on both sides of the Atlantic and to empower transnational research communities to pursue transformational, sustainable solutions to global grand challenges. #GlobalHealth #PandemicPreparedness

Thrilled to share insights from our recent presentation for the subject "Complex Case Studies," where we delved into the compelling reasons behind our mission to develop a sustainable inhibitor for combating COVID-19. 🦠🔬 In our pursuit of a safer and healthier world, we discussed why we should target the non-structural protein 12 of the SARS-CoV-2 virus to stop the replication of the virus and prevent the spread of COVID-19. As emerging scientists and future healthcare professionals, this subject and its associated research models hold immense promise in equipping us with the knowledge and tools needed to understand, manage, and effectively combat any potential future pandemics. As always it was a pleasure working with Mahek Thanki, Nisal Keembiyage, and Kevin Narendran Joseph!

🌏 New WorldPop paper on optimizing the detection of emerging infections using mobility-based spatial sampling: https://lnkd.in/ezd46u6x Timely and precise detection of emerging infections is important for effective disease control, but human mobility can significantly influence transmission dynamics. Using mobile phone data we develop and test mobility-based spatial sampling frameworks to improve detection efficiency for emerging infections.
