Interesting new book for teachers of economics as we grapple with the growth of hybrid teaching & lower student engagement in the post pandemic period.
So proud of CTaLE’s Parama Chaudhury for getting this amazing book over the line, despite some of us being tardy authors. A great collaboration with Dr. Abdullah Al Bahrani and Brandon Sheridan. We have learnt a lot since 2020 about teaching online, but there is always more to learn. https://lnkd.in/eCvpcd6i

Just finished reading *Educate to Self-Regulate* by Dr. Shyam Barr, and it was truly eye-opening! 📚 The book offers profound insights into fostering self-regulation skills in ourselves and others, particularly in educational settings. Dr. Barr's approach is practical and inspiring, emphasising the importance of managing our emotions for success. Highly recommend it to anyone interested in personal development and effective teaching strategies. So glad I picked this up—it's definitely left a lasting impression! #SelfRegulation #Education #learnthrivesucceed #PersonalDevelopment #TeachingStrategies #BookRecommendation Dr Shyam Barr

Too many kids are reading below grade level. Teaching vocabulary is extremely important. Especially at an early age. Digital books and reading apps allow students to highlight words to find meaning in a matter of seconds. This enhances their ability to comprehend and improves written communication. I do this with my own reading. #vocabulary #readingdaily

Reimagining Education: We Need Life-long Readers! 1. Ever secretly read under your desk because the teacher was boring and you *had* to finish your book? 2. Ever been scolded for reading at the dinner table? 3. Ever read under the covers after being told to go to bed? If you or a child you know said YES to any of these, then the love for reading is already alive and well! But here's the thing—our goal shouldn’t just be teaching fluency and comprehension. We need to ignite joy, passion, and excitement in reading! We want students to LOVE it! Reading isn't just a subject; it's a life skill, a gateway to understanding the world, and a foundation for becoming an engaged, thoughtful adult. In today's fast-paced world, convincing young people of this can be a challenge—but it's a challenge worth taking on. A love of reading fosters open-mindedness, empathy, and the ability to share and discuss great ideas. It’s the key to growing into someone truly special. Let’s make sure every child finds that spark! #LoveForReading #LifelongLearners #RaiseAReader #ReadingMatters #EducationForLife

Very important and interesting points here @Dr. Pratima Gurung We should be well aware and vigilant of the things we say with our mouths. I always observe my students and often times I say some phrases “Good ones” and later on that week, I’ll hear them repeating them to others and I realised how important it is to choose your words! Your book is worth reading. #healthy classroom #teaching #educationadvocacy #Topeducationvoice
