Exciting Insights from our "Trends & Studies" Section (identified by the distinctive blue frame💙): How digital is the communications profession in Germany? The digitalization of communication departments in companies and PR-Agencies still needs a lot of improvement. Only 4 % see themselves as innovators with complete digitalization of all core activities and advanced use from CommTech. The digital index currently lies by 45 out of 100 points. Those are some of the results of the first „CommTech Index Report” (https://lnkd.in/dj4R7fC6), which the CommTech working group and the Deutsche Public Relations Gesellschaft e. V. (DPRG) recently published at the CommTech Summit in Hamburg. The report is based on an online survey from communication experts detailed insights in the status of the digitalization of communication in companies and PR agencies in Germany. AI as an opportunity – Reserved opinions towards Bots and Metaverse The survey clearly showed that the professions are not afraid of new technologies and see more chances than risks in these applications. For example, 75 % of the respondents see AI as an opportunity, 19 % are natural towards the topic and only 6 % see it as a threat. Data analysis (93 %) and process automation (82 %) were seen as the two most popular areas. On the other hand, there are major concerns for the following areas: Cybersecurity and data protection (30 %) and Bots (26 %). The survey also shows that technologies in AR, VR and mixed reality are still recognized as neutral and cannot be properly assessed yet. This results in a reticence towards the metaverse topic. 63 % are neutral towards this, whilst only 26 % see a chance in it. 47 % of the surveyed view technologies in AR, VR, and mixed reality as an opportunity. 🚀 Let's Shape the Future Together! Delivering #AVTechnologySimplified drives every single thing we do. No one needs complexity to help get work done. AV technology is a key driver of team performance. The world of work is tech-centric, and AV drives our conversational experiences. It's gotta work. Every time. Which is why we ping our tech every 24 hours to make sure it's working right. We committed up front to robust design to keep your teams on track. Not the cheapest; not some dumbed-down version; not what didn't work yesterday. It's gotta work every time. For #5 of our #7BigIdeas, we engineered bundles not based on good-better-best, but on the work to be done where the AV will be placed. Application-based solutions. You know, like you would do. Our bundles and modifying packages remove the design cost so you get incredible AV solutions at moderate price points. When your teams are more productive with the tech they need, you win. We don't think like everyone else in the AV world. We deliver the experiences you and your teams need, because we think like you do. When you're ready to elevate your team's productivity, we'll show you how to bust a move into the world of work in 2024. Who else would use a 1989 reference to help you make work work in 2024? Nowadays, the combination of product and service is no longer sufficient. Only the addition of customer-oriented value propositions creates real differentiation and opens up potential for new business models. A key catalyst is Industry 4.0 and the associated digital networking within production. Companies and their employees must be extremely agile, flexible and adaptive in order to be able to dynamically adapt in a constantly changing environment. It is therefore essential not only to develop and expand technological (such as machine learning, artificial intelligence) and data-related competences (data visualization, tiny data, big data and cloud solutions), but also to adapt the organisational structure and corporate culture accordingly. As part of a recent study by acatech (German Academy of Science and Engineering), Heimbach was -interviewed about the topic of 'smart services'. This refers to services that are developed and provided with the help of Industrie 4.0 technologies. It is about added value for the customer in digital form (e.g. additional information on the delivered product, support in troubleshooting). The task here was to evaluate the transformation progress in our company along six defined design fields (e.g. product & networking or technology & data). Using a maturity model, the development stage should be clustered accordingly: From "digital starter" to "smart service provider" to "smart solution integrator". Digital Starter: They have an awareness of the Smart Service Transformation but are still in the early stages of development. Smart Product Manufacturer: They offer products with digital functions (e.g. integration of sensors). Smart service providers: They have launched the first smart services on the market, collect and analyse data through sensors in the product for process monitoring at the customer. Smart Solution Integrator: These companies collect all data relevant for value creation. Customers benefit from clearly defined solution packages. Offering smart services absolutely requires that employees have knowledge, skills and competences in the areas of Industry 4.0, digitalisation and service orientation. They must be able to access, capture and process data and information. Based on this, a resilient decision is made. Heimbach is a “Digital Starter”. In the near future, we have to exchange more data and experience belong the entire value added chain. That is the reason, why we deal now with the topics data visualization, machine learning, artificial intelligence and smart services to increase our and our customers benefits. The complete study is available here (in german only): https://lnkd.in/eF4GitAS #heimbach #ai #digitalization
