We are excited to share Hearst’s 2023 Community Engagement report, the first in-depth look at efforts across the company to support and uplift communities. We are thrilled to see our work at the Hearst Foundations highlighted, and thank you to all of the teams and colleagues featured for all that you do.
Today we released our 2023 Community Engagement report which details Hearst’s longstanding commitment to social good. Colleagues at every level are engaged in helping nonprofits flourish through board service, supporting organizations including Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, National Association of Broadcasters, National Park Foundation, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Norton Museum of Art, The Paley Center for Media, Partnership for New York City, T. Howard Foundation and Whitney Museum of American Art among many others. Through contributions and Hearst’s dollar-for-dollar matches, we’ve raised funds for disaster relief and the organizations our colleagues care about most, such as American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Best Buddies International, Dress for Success Worldwide, Hetrick-Martin Institute, Lambda Legal, UnidosUS (@WeAreUnidosUS), United Way of New York City and United Way chapters across the country. And Hearst Foundations helps communities around the country with grants totaling ~$50M annually to support culture, education, health and social services. Aquarium of the Pacific, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Cleveland Clinic Children’s, Direct Relief, DreamYard Project, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Houston Symphony, Morehouse College, Tahirih Justice Center, Team Rubicon, University of California, San Francisco and 6,500 other organizations have benefitted from the Foundations’ support. The Foundations’ signature programs are nurturing the next generation of leaders with United States Senate Youth Program and the Hearst Journalism Awards Program.
