We are born as adorable, highly proficient mimics, and readily absorb others’ perspectives and practices. We do this by imitating others and via informal and formal instruction. Parents, siblings, grandparents, schools, faith communities, prestigious people, news organizations, and more recently, producers of television, movies, and social media intentionally and unintentionally transmit culture. They pass their perspectives, preferences, practices, and prohibitions to us. This week I created an example case study which allowed me to work with a young person on how to tolerate uncertainty. Using a case study allows the young person to take the ownership off themselves and focus on tasks to support someone else. Following this they can use their developed skills to apply this to their worries #EMHP #LOWINTENSITYCBT #CBT #MHST
