Here are some of the common signs I've seen for hiring a DevOps for your team. Share if you find this useful, or let me know if you disagree. 🤔

Does it pay more to be a Platform engineer or DevOps? We're compiling the report for the state of the Kubernetes job market for 2023, and this really struck me: if you consider just the highest-paying role, DevOps beats platform engineering! But if in doubt, you should really move into SRE 😅 As usual, you can find all the (Kubernetes) jobs on Kube Careers https://kube.careers And stay tuned: the full report will be ready at the end of the month!

I automate the toil to eradicate your pain | CKA | GCP Professional Certified | Content creator @ CloudArch.es | Site Reliability Engineer @ InPost
Do the companies and teams really know what they need when they are hiring on IT? 🤔 💭 Recently I saw A LOT of open positions for literally "DevOps/SRE" engineers, but is even that the same? Do they perform the same kind of tasks? 😑 Reading the book "Becoming SRE" from David Blank-Edelman we can find soon a very clear answer: No. 😮 Even they sometimes use the same tools, the skillsets resides in different sides: DevOps on delivery and SREs on reliability. So why the teams are looking for recently both profiles? Do they really know this difference or they just want to be part of the trend and the new era when all they need is maybe just an Infrastructure Engineer? Is this confussing engineers and not allowing them to develop an area of expertise? Are we attacking correctly the problem or just puting patches until the next alert comes up? What do you think? Maybe my good friend Scott Cudney can add more light into this matter.

📢📢Finding the right DevOps, Platform, and Site Reliability Engineer goes beyond simply matching a skills checklist📝 I've successfully placed hundreds of engineers into companies ranging from start-ups to global leaders across diverse domains like FinTech, SaaS, Clean Technology, and Automotive/Mobility🚗⚡♻️ ⭐My priority is *Cultural Alignment* above all else⭐ To make the right hire, it's essential to fully understand a company's unique culture, work methods, and environment in order to bring the right people together🧑🤝👩🏠 This approach ensures a perfect fit for both the engineer and the hiring team🤝 #devops #SRE #platform #tethr #culture

DevOps Engineer: I automate everything and keep the systems running smoothly. Platform Engineer: I build and maintain the infrastructure that powers everything. What the hiring team sees in both cases: Server man The confusion is sadly real. This matrix may help to understand the basic boundaries. 🔁 Consider a repost if this is useful.
