Hawaiian Airlines recently announced that we have reached an agreement to combine with Alaska Airlines to create an even stronger airline, while maintaining the Hawaiian Airlines brand. As airlines rooted in the 49th and 50th U.S. states, which are uniquely reliant upon air travel, Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines share a great deal in common. Together, we can build on our respective 90 year legacies, do more for Hawai‘i travelers and for our employees, and create a stronger platform on which to compete and sustain for the future. We are excited to combine to bring local care and global reach to travelers throughout Hawai‘i, the West Coast and beyond: https://lnkd.in/gbCmd2FU. I exclusively fly Hawaiian and I’m really nervous about this merger bc I don’t feel like Alaska has the same level of service. Will you still provide the same experience for Pualani passengers?

It’s sad to see the demise of Hawaii’s last great privately held Airline.

Great move, now fly Canada to HNL, OGG nonstop..we would love to have Hawaiian in our airspace, especially out of Vancouver and Calgary.

As a proud employee of Alaska Airlines I’m very much looking forward to working together with the people of Hawaiian Airlines. I’ve been a passenger on both airlines many times and I’m confident that together we will uphold the unique service both airlines provide. Also, I’m optimistic about the potential for future growth this merger makes possible.

Alaska Airlines is truly a brilliant operator. There’s no question that they know what they’re doing.

Tremendous potential for the future by combining the two airlines that survived the deregulation era against long odds and much larger airlines. Key to both was their employees. No reason why a Seattle based airline that is Alaska's "Hometown Airline" can't also be Hawaii's "Hometown Airline" ...it all hinges on preserving Hawaiians two greatest strengths, it's brand and the Aloha spirit of the HA employees. As Bob Maier said, this has the potential to be great were so many other mergers were not.

I'm a fan. This will be an amazing example of how strategic partnerships can be invaluable and cement your company's future. A move that will undoubtedly bolster both brands and enhance the already existing loyal consumer base
