"But I've spent my whole career in the restaurant industry. It's all I know. Nobody will hire me for something outside the industry." And that was the conversation I had this morning with a good friend of mine, someone I have known for more than 25 years. He's one of the best operators I've ever had the pleasure of working with. He's literally made millions for the companies that he has worked for. And yet, he didn't recognize his own value. I've long held that restaurant operators have all the skillsets they need to contribute to almost any business, including their own business if that's what they aspire to. Operations? Yep HR? Yep Production? Oh, yeah Facilities Management? Absolutely P&L Management? Nobody better at this than a restaurateur Inventory Management? See previous comment Quality Control? Yeppers Marketing? Yes Training? All day every day Leadership? Around the clock Adaptable? Every minute of every hour Strategic Planning? Yep Tactics? Aces in their places Customer Service? Yes, and there are some challenging customers out there Staff retention? Key core responsibility So, I connected him with a resume writer to help him. Soon, I will reach out to some key contacts in franchising in the hopes that I can help him find his new career. Because this guy has talent. #career #restaurantmanagers

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!! Let’s get to know each other! Tell me about yourself 😁 Let me introduce myself 🧡 As a leader in my various roles, I have learned how to build vendor relationships, order supplies and materials, hire and recruit new staffing, schedule staff, and coordinate deliveries and logistics, all while maintaining strong relationships with my team members around me. As we all know, no good job is done alone. These catering roles have strengthened my skills primarily as an operations manager but helped develop my sales abilities as well as marketing capabilities. I strive to do my best and learn more along the way. From selling fresh guacamole and taco packs to delivering on 200-person weddings to 1000-person tailgates, to 5000-person city BBQ events, to designing new seasonal menus, to creating marketing materials and promotions, and so much in between ... I'm a strong leader with work ethic, integrity, and the ability to work well with and motivate others. #projectcoordinator #projectengineer #projectmanagement #construction

Case study: Restaurant General Manager Success Story: how we found the perfect General Manager The goal: Our main aim was to nab a General Manager who totally gets the clients restaurant's vibe and can lead the crew to victory. You know, someone who's all about people, the food, and giving guests the time of their lives. The challenge: Building a top-notch management team – General Manager, Deputy General Manager, and Assistant Manager. The team had potential, but they needed a confident, caring captain to steer the ship. The game plan: Here's how we tackled it: We stayed in the loop with the clients Recruitment and Operations Managers to really get what they were after. We dug into our huge database and picked out candidates who matched up: close to the site, loads of management experience, spoke Spanish, and a mix of big brand and indie restaurant backgrounds. But we didn't stop there! We got creative – ads went up, we kicked off some LinkedIn action, and scoured other job boards to find even more rockstars. We had a good chat with these amazing candidates, pulling out their standout achievements and what makes them tick. We made sure they'd slide right into our client’s world. The big win: Guess what? The very first candidate we showed them was spot on for the General Manager role! **disclaimer this is an anomaly but sometimes we get it right first time! And guess what else? They said yes just a little over 2 weeks after we started the hunt. In those first 10 days, we sent 7 General Manager contenders. Across all positions, we reached out to 13 folks we thought would shine. Interviews for the junior management crew are right around the corner... Max Wagner COREcruitment Ltd https://lnkd.in/e_8GxV-7

Imagine you tried to open a restaurant and run it by yourself. People would say you were insane. Not one person could be the host, chef, waiter, and dishwasher at the same time. The customers would have a horrible experience. And those are just the day-to-day operations. You’d never have time to consider marketing and business growth strategies. The same rings true for a law firm – it’s simply not a one-person job. You’d be surprised to see how much off your plate can one hire take. You just have to be strategic about it. 🧠 If you want to learn more check out my Amazon best-seller "24 Months to Freedom” or stalk my profile 😉 ------------------------------------------- 🔔 Hit my Bell for weekly tips on law firm staffing, delegation, and leadership. 🌎 Visit Get Staffed Up for more information on how to delegate your way to FREEDOM! #lawfirm #lawyers #leadership #getstaffedup #virtualassistants

Partnering with restaurant owners to address their most pressing leadership and business challenges, enabling them to focus their time and energy where it matters most. Hospitality Catalyst - Podcaster - Speaker
One of the best lessons I learned as an Assistant General Manager aspiring to become a General Manager was this Advocating for myself. I was relentless in making my desires for growth known to my boss and his boss. Once I spoke up, they laid out a path for my growth and development, which ultimately lead to my promotion as a General Manager. Never assume that other's know your desires. Create your own path for greatness. #restaurants #leadershipdevelopment #careergrowth

We ship Southern ice cream nationwide 📦🍦 | Building the workforce of the future one scoop shop at a time
How I learned to manage my time better as a restaurant manager: (after years of being in the weeds) - I started putting office / admin time on the schedule for the rest of my team to see - If I was short on managers, I trained 2-3 trusted staff members to handle minor "manager duties" like voids, comps, and customer visits while I stepped away for short periods (never during peak times) - I time blocked 30 min - an hour before I needed to be on the floor to knock out administrative tasks and emails - I stopped pretending I wasn't an introvert and started owning that I needed quiet time to focus and get tasks done I transformed from being constantly stressed and cranky, to a happier and more engaged leader. I was able to build community and a stronger work culture. Remember, you are allowed to step away from your team and guests to get the invisible work done. PS - You can do it, too! If you'd like to schedule a free 30 minute call to talk about it, shoot me a DM. #restaurants #restaurantmanagement #timemanagement #leadership #invisiblework #intheweeds #outoftheweeds
