Just recently, Positive News published an article about the 10th anniversary of the Green Alley Award: https://lnkd.in/eKk9kMPc They had these (positive!) words to say about the list of soon-to-be 60 finalists who will have competed for our award: “It is a bulging-with-hope list of solutions that disrupt the accepted system of making products to be consumed and dumped at considerable cost to the planet.” The article sets the context that drove us to launch the award: the depletion of natural resources and our determination to support circular economy policies that will decouple economic growth from their use. I hope to see you at the final in Berlin, where Positive New’s Martin Wright will join me on the jury. You can register your place in the comment below. This week, after intense discussion, we chose the five remaining startups who will join Novapedra in the final. Let’s take a closer look at them in the coming weeks… #circulareconomy #startups #recycling #wasteprevention

🌎 Amazing Tuesday at SF Climate Week! 🌎 Early in the morning, together with my co.founder Natalia Drault, we started the activity at SF Climate Week very early, meeting with Josh Garrett from Redwood Climate Communications at #9ZeroClimateInnovationHubCoworking, who invited us to talk and learn more about LEAF. It was a very rich conversation in which he helped us continue working on strategies and opportunities to accompany more businesses towards a #LowCarbonEconomy. 🌿 #Josh helped us define key aspects to #communicate and share LEAF's #ValueProposition based on our #differentiators as a pillar, from our genesis and to-date as a 100% #bootstrapped company. Thanks Josh Garrett for this opportunity! 🚀 During the afternoon, we attended to an event hosted by LEAF powered by Reciprocal in collaboration with Carbon Business Council and Consulate General of Uruguay in San Francisco in San Francisco. Natalia Drault had the chance to share LEAF´s value proposition as a 100% bootstrapped startup with active customers in #LATAM and #USA. Particularly, she deep dive aspects such as #drivers, #challenges and #pains that companies are having to implement a #DecarbonizationStrategy. Many examples of diverse LEAF users were shared to reflect that with LEAF´s blend of #Tech #Coaching, there would not be barriers any more for companies despite their complexity, size or budget, allowing even #SMBs to be part of the #change being able to #manage, #reduce and #report their #CarbonFootprint with the same #robustness and #transparency as a big company would. 🌎 🚀 We had also the chance to listen to other new startups bringing #NewTechnologies to help companies reduce their GHG emissions. Thanks Daniel Gajardo and Pablo Lucangeli from Reciprocal as well as to Andres Friedman from Solfium, Aadith Moorthy from Boomitra and Josh Santos from Noya for joining us during the event! 🍃

Berlin Innovation Agency's Accelerator Manager 🚀 - Climate and Impact focused 🌱 Let's connect & discuss synergies!
If you know me, you’re aware that summer is always the high season for scouting startups 🙅♀️ 🏖️ We’ve officially kicked off the ClimateX Accelerator last week, meaning that the hectic selection ''season'' is finally over. Months of scouting and thoughtful curation went into selecting these teams, I can only be proud of us: To Florencia, who took as many calls as me to make my summer less hectic and to Darius for his wise advice and constant drive to make our program even better. Here are my key takeaways: 1️⃣ Handpicked Connections This year, we focused on quality over quantity, making direct connections at key events and bringing those startups to ours. This approach allowed us to engage with teams that are truly pushing the boundaries in climate tech. 2️⃣ Partnering with Ecosystem Leaders Long-standing partnerships helped us identify innovative teams and game-changing solutions. Our alumni acted as ambassadors, and our mentors were invaluable in helping us find the next gems. A huge thank you to Christoph Rohde Christoph Raethke Rita Katona Martin Valkov Mika Sagindyk Udi G. and many more! 3️⃣ Supporting Female Founders We made a concerted effort to boost female founder participation this year. By starting early conversations with female-led climate tech startups and planting the seed for future female founders, we were able to double the number of female founders in this new cohort. 🎁 Bonus Insight: Crossing Borders Sometimes it’s not just about talking to teams at your event—it’s about crossing borders and thinking outside of the box. One of our team relocated to Berlin just for the program. I wasn’t sure if they’d make it in time, but the magic of Europe made it possible. I’m excited to see how these teams grow and thrive in the coming months. As they integrate into our ecosystem and cohort, I’m confident they will continue to push boundaries and drive impactful change. Let’s get this started! 💪🏻
