We Have An Urgent Need For Our Angel Food Assistance Fund - Please Donate One of our most important programs is our Angel Food Assistance Fund. This fund provides immediate assistance for families struggling with food insecurity. We currently have 13 applications with emergency food needs, but our Angel Food Assistance Fund is running low. We need to raise $2,000 today in order to meet the critical needs of these 13 families and their children to ensure they don't go to bed hungry tonight. Donate today, and a child eats tonight. Will you please make a donation of $25 or more tonight to help us reach our goal? If just 1% of the people who see this message today make a tax-deductible donation, it will make a huge difference in this lives of these families. Reflecting on the past week, I'm thrilled to share that I've finally flung on the running shoes and started my 49mile challenge off with a bang (and a small side stitch!) I managed my first 10k run on the treadmill yesterday in approx. 1 hour and 20 minutes. With 6.2 miles completed, there's a motivating (and slightly daunting) 42.8 miles ahead. I'm dedicating this effort to support causes close to my heart—RNLI and Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. If you can, please consider contributing to these worthy organizations. To donate to the RNLI Reindeer Run event, check the link below: https://lnkd.in/ev8bEpH6 To support 25miles for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association Disease Association please see this link below: https://gofund.me/d5c56140 This journey has prompted contemplation on the virtue of patience and commitment. Just a few months ago, I struggled to keep up even a minute of consistent running, feeling the frustration of comparing myself to more experienced runners at the gym. Realizing the futility of these comparisons, I shifted my focus to personal progress. Each session, I aimed for improvement - one step at a time, and over time, I've unwittingly transformed into someone who can now jog along with the ease and comfort I once admired in others. This experience, I've found, holds a broader lesson applicable to situations both personal and professional. Often, we find it challenging to perceive our own progress when either fixated on comparisons or burdened by unrealistic expectations. I've discovered that by occasionally looking back at the journey, we can appreciate the strides made, recognising that we may actually have reached a point of which we once only dreamed of. Here's to embracing the value of personal growth and celebrating the journey toward our aspirations, one step (and mile) at a time. #RNLI #MND #charityfundraising #ThoughtOfTheDay #reflection #personaldevelopment #personalgrowth
Sasha Ferguson from Castle Colour Packaging Ltd is gearing up for a new challenge in December!... He will be running, walking, and yes, crawling (in that order!) a total of 49 miles to support RNLI and MND Association. Sasha said ‘While running isn't my forte, the important causes drive me to lace up my shoes, throw on some reindeer antlers, and hit the pavement! Your support means the world.’ The photo captures an impromptu 5k run in Florida at the early hour of 5 am! 🌅🏃♂️ Every donation to support these wonderful charities will be really appreciated. We will be cheering Sasha on in December! Eating disorders are pervasive and life-threatening. They are mental illnesses with often severe physical repercussions, and they have the potential to cause lifelong harm to a person of any age, gender, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. Missouri Eating Disorders Association presents at schools in the Greater St. Louis region to educate the most vulnerable populations - our kids, tweens, and teenagers - on the signs and symptoms of eating disorders. The two main takeaways of the presentation? 1. How to ask for help for yourself or a friend ("tell a trusted adult!"), and 2. Recovery is possible. I believe so fully in the importance of this program and the incredible capabilities of the MOEDA team. Early education and prevention of eating disorders saves lives. The students we serve - and all kids - deserve full lives filled with the regular ups & downs that life undoubtedly brings. Together, we can fight eating disorders, strengthen our community, and work to change the narrative of diet culture. Today is GiveSTL Day. Please consider supporting MOEDA. Thank you! https://lnkd.in/gAvpTeNi
