As Pride Month came to a close, we at Harbinger Health gathered to celebrate with a vibrant display of rainbow-themed treats, including juices, bagels, and yogurt parfaits – embracing our culture of belonging. Throughout the month, our teams engaged in sharing and learning about the origins of various pride flags, the importance of gender pronouns, and the diverse identities within the LGBTQIA community. Through ongoing education and allyship, we strive daily to create an inclusive and accessible product, ensuring that our workplace embodies those same values. #lgbtqia #pridemonth #pride2024

The Out & Equal Workplace Summit is next week at Disney World. #OESummit23 is the world's largest LGBTQ Workplace Summit bringing together more than 3,500 executives, DEIB practitioners, ERG leaders and members, and influencers for four days of unrivaled knowledge-sharing, workshops, special events, networking, and celebration. Our workshop "Intentionally Intersectional" will focus on enhancing ERG platforms. Most of us join specific diverse dimension ERGs for personal reasons (professional development, DE&I education, advocacy, volunteerism, mentorship, networking...) and it is easy to understand the individual value proposition. In this session participants will learn how to enhance diversity initiatives by using ERGs to create diverse and inclusive workplaces, empower and uplift those who are most marginalized, address systemic discrimination and create equitable and supportive workplaces for all employees. Our panel will demonstrate how to use intersectionality to produce initiatives and programs that leverage shared lived experiences. Not only will your organization benefit from the collaborative efforts, but also build empathy and allyship. Leading with a purpose. | I bring innovative, technical and financial solutions to large, complex infrastructure programmes at every stage of their lifecycles.
The role of allyship extends beyond supporting specific communities; it's about cultivating an environment where diverse ideas and perspectives can thrive. As we enter Pride Month, we are reminded of the broader significance of inclusivity in the workplace. Embracing diversity isn't just a moral imperative; it's a business one. Research consistently show that diverse teams are more innovative and perform better. By fostering a culture where every voice is heard and valued—regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, or background—we open the door to a wider range of insights, creativity, and solutions. My commitment to allyship, whether it pertains to the LGBTQIAP community or any other underrepresented group, is rooted in the conviction that the best ideas emerge from the most diverse perspectives. #PrideMonth #InclusiveLeadership #DiversityInBusiness #AllyshipInAction #DiverseWorkforce

New on On the Line: How to Run an LGBTQIA Inclusive Restaurant 🏳️🌈 1. Make it clear that your restaurant is a safe space. Whether it's including the queer community in your marketing initiatives, or hanging your Pride flag 365 days a year, the goal is to create an inclusive environment for patrons and employees. 2. Be gender neutral. Language matters! A simple greeting like 'How's everyone doing today?’ or ‘Can I get you folks anything else?’ is friendly, inclusive and goes a long way. 3. Set a positive work environment from the top down. Prioritize mental health, be open to differences in expression, and be proactive in hiring inclusively. 4. Provide LGBTQ awareness and ally training. Educational communities such as #FairKitchens seek to provide a more positive kitchen culture for all employees. 6. Celebrate Pride year-round and in a way that benefits the community. To ensure your actions are lasting and impactful, consider ways to support the LGBTQ community all year long, not just in June. 🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🌈 As we celebrate the vibrancy, resilience, and contributions of the LGBTQIA community, it's crucial to acknowledge that many organizations still struggle to support their LGBTQIA employees genuinely. While rainbow logos and pride-themed merchandise are plentiful this time of year, the real measure of support is found in everyday actions and policies. Here are some questions every leader should ask themselves: • Is our workplace truly inclusive, or do we just check the boxes? • Do our policies protect and uplift LGBTQIA employees, or do they simply avoid discrimination? • Are we fostering an environment where everyone feels safe to be their authentic selves? It's not enough to tolerate diversity; we must actively cultivate a culture of inclusion and equity. This means not only celebrating during Pride Month but also challenging homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia every day of the year. So, let's do better, people. #PrideMonth #LGBTQIA #Inclusion #Diversity #DoBetterPeople

Have you heard of rainbow washing? It's a term that refers to companies or organizations jumping on the LGBTQ pride bandwagon without truly supporting the cause. In essence, it's when brands exploit the rainbow symbol for profit and marketing purposes while failing to uphold the values of diversity, inclusion, and equality. For instance, a clothing company slaps a rainbow flag on its products during Pride Month but lacks policies supporting LGBTQ employees and remains silent on critical issues affecting the community. This is #rainbowwashing in action, and it's essential to recognize and challenge such actions. As a company that values employee wellness, genuine support goes way beyond symbolism. Let's celebrate diversity and work together to ensure both authenticity and inclusivity. #EmployersWhoCare #Community #Marketing #Diversity #LGBTQCommunity

As Pride Month draws to a close, we at Advantage Accreditation want to remind everyone of the importance of promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) all year round. Pride Month is a significant time for celebrating members of the LGBTQ community, but our commitment to creating an inclusive and respectful environment for all people must continue beyond June. Under the Human Rights Act 1998, everyone has the right to live a life free from discrimination. Under the Equality Act 2010, individuals are protected against discrimination in the workplace and wider society based on the following nine protected characteristics: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation. These terms are used in legislation, however, we recognise that language and identities are ever-evolving. We offer comprehensive training materials on EDI, which are available to our accredited centres. These materials include: 💬 Detailed slides on terminology associated with LGBTQ groups ⚙️ Strategies for promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion in various settings 👏 Guidance on fostering a respectful environment for everyone If you are interested in delivering accredited training on these topics, please get in touch with us. Our resources are designed to help learners understand and implement best practices for EDI. As we move beyond Pride Month, let's continue to show respect and kindness to all individuals, fostering equality in every aspect of our lives. #PrideMonth #Pride #EqualityDiversityandInclusion #Equality #Diversity #Inclusion
