My first boss at Hilti, Josef Zeidler always said: "We cannot develop people, we can only provide opportunities and environment for their own development". And this was a central motto for today, when E5 region had a day dedictated to talents' review with global colleagues from Energy&Industry business unit. What I see as real differentiator for Hilti is the fact that we always talk about different levels of talents and not only those whom we see ultimately feeding into very senior roles. We believe that all our people have a potential. The art is to understand what is that potential for. Giving people different opportunities to contribute or various tasks to be fulfilled, help them to better understand what they enjoy doing and by that having better outcomes. Additionally, it provides the great ground for the leadership to get more clarity on what is the right environment in which our people can get best out of themselves for their further professional and personal development. Thank you Reinhard Schindler, Gerry Boesch, Petr Hanuska, Dimitrij Lisak for your dedication to our talents and Judita Bihellerová for orchestrating the day. When I was watering my "little garden" on the balcony and looked at small pot with daisy, it brought back the impression of today. Different flowers, some higher, some shorter, some sprouts only, some blooming, some fading out but all contributing to little beauty in the white pot. Hello LinkedIn community, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and start to this new year! I wanted to take a moment to share a more personal update on my professional journey. First, I want to take a moment to thank my Stryker team for the opportunities they provided me over the last 2 years. They, along with the other companies I have been blessed to be a part of over the last 10 years, have opened my eyes to so many different professional arenas that I didn't even know existed! Given that, I also realized that over the last decade or so I have uncovered skills and areas of focus that I'm very good at but, never really sat down to consider what I am truly passionate about. In the fast-paced world of corporate life, it's easy to get caught up in the daily hustle and lose sight of what truly matters to us. It was a difficult decision because I've really never known anything except that I need to support myself and make a living - however, with the love and support of Latif Alam, I've been fortunate enough to take a step back and reflect on my journey so far. This period of time will (hopefully) allow me to identify what is genuinely important to me and what fuels my passion. Taking this time is a gift—a chance to reset, realign, and recharge. As I navigate this journey, I'm excited about what the future holds with a goal of uncovering a clearer sense of purpose and a renewed passion so that I can channel this energy and insight into my next professional endeavor, where I can not only step into a new role but also step up in a way that aligns seamlessly with my values and aspirations. I'm grateful for the experiences that have brought me to this point and for the continuous support from friends, family, and mentors. Life is a journey, and this pause will been a crucial chapter in mine. I look forward to the adventures ahead and to connecting with all of you as I embark on this exciting new phase. 10, 20 or even 40 years with the same company? That‘s crazy! I can still remember thinking so when meeting many of my new colleagues during the first days and weeks at Mosca GmbH. Back then in 2008, I had just started as a student in mechanical engineering and I would‘ve never thought I would one day look back at 15 years – or 1/3 of my professional life – with the same company. One reason is for sure the many possibilities I had during that time: from R&D and Engineering, to Product Management, Sales, relocating to Asia, expanding business in Asia-Pacific and, ultimately, returning to headquarters as part of the group management board. Despite getting to know many different cultures around the world, there was always one common company culture to rely on. Mosca is where it all started, where I completed my studies, where I learned everything I know about leadership, where I grew as a manager and as a person. Looking back at it now, it was never about career goals but doing something meaningful and having fun along the way. And most importantly, I‘ve met a bunch of incredible people without whom the ride would‘ve only been half as fun and some of which I now call friends. My gratitude goes to all Mosca colleagues across the globe, especially the entire Sales, Service & Marketing crew, to my bosses who inspired and mentored me and all partners and customers for open and trusting relationships. In retrospect, these 15 incredibly successful, sometimes bumpy but always fun years don’t feel crazy at all. I guess time really flies when you’re having a good time. But sometimes unforgettable journeys must come to an end, to embark on new ones. I will now take a step back in order to be open to a new challenge next year. But for sure Mosca and it‘s people will forever be a significant part of my life.

Last year as I penned down my ninth work anniversary, little did I predict it would mark the beginning of a transformative chapter to a post Waterfield Advisors era for myself. Since then, a myriad of experiences have unfolded, guiding me towards an “entrepreneurial odyssey” fuelled by the learnings accumulated over two decades. My journey commences with a profound understanding of what not to do, focusing on the essence of building a place where passions come alive. Building a Legacy for all: Central to this pursuit is a commitment to agendas moving beyond a self-centric mindset and championing the ethos of collective advancement. Building an organisation that blends individual identities into the cultural fabric which lives beyond one’s legacy!
