Non-compete agreements are off the table...right? I wouldn't get all amped up yet, the Chamber of Commerce has already filed suit to block the FTC's ruling, so let's wait and see for now. I have had extensive experience in 1099 business models and the like, and I will tell you this, in 25-30 years in the business world, most of these agreements, if enforced, are generally not upheld by courts; but why? What I have learned is that you cannot take away someone's livelihood or ability to generate income inside their trade or field...most courts have agreed and sided, rightly so in my opinion, with workers. I do side with the workers but, only in egregious cases, I do feel companies should have some recourse & protection; full noncompete agreements should be banned! What does everyone think?
