HALFSPACE SHARES AI INSIGHTS AT ØRSTED EDGE WEEK Ørsted is currently hosting 'Edge Week'. - a week full of events focusing on disruptive technologies. Today, our Founding Partner and CEO, Claus Bek Nielsen, delivered a captivating talk to hundreds of Ørsted employees, emphasising the importance of embracing AI to drive innovation and competitiveness. During his talk, Claus provided concrete examples of Ørsted's current AI usage, while also addressing the societal implications of AI, stressing the need for responsible development and collaboration between companies. Despite the simple setup, the message was clear: "AI is a massive opportunity for societies and organisations." Claus further emphasized the importance on recognising divergent thinking as key; - I truly believe that AI will transform companies, industries and economies, and I believe that its impact will be monumental. And I think, that with AI in mind, knowing the fierce and rapid development within this field, that organisations have to calibrate their ways of traditional thinking. They have to recognize and apply the toolbox of the divergent thinkers, and really use creativity and seek novelty". Edge Week serves as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge sharing among Ørsted employees, marking an important step in the company's journey to apply the power of AI and disruptive technologies for the benefit of its stakeholders and society. It was a real gift to connect with leaders from health, manufacturing, hospitality, engineering amongst others at AI Industry Day in Sydney and Melbourne. It's events like these, championed by CSIRO's Data61, National AI Centre and Australian Industry Group (Ai Group) that are the cogs in the machine of Australian innovation and something I am deeply proud to be part of. I shared some hard-won lessons from deploying AI solutions, one of which was “get on with it!”: Generative AI (or GenAI) has gone from garage project to global importance in the space of 18 months. No one knows that it will look like in another 18 so don’t spend your time overanalysing the pros and cons of one platform or model over another, because by the time you’re done, it will have changed. Instead, focus on getting benefits from the technology that already exists!
