🆕 Today, we’ve published our latest report ESG in Manufacturing: Growth, Supply Chain Cooperation and the Future of Sustainability in the Industry, in partnership with Lloyds Bank. It reveals how almost 2/3 of Britain’s manufacturers have set Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) targets for their business, an increase of 48% since 2021. 🎯 👥 More than 3/4 (77%) of firms are receiving ESG requests from their customers, but less than half said they have the resources required to meet them. ⏩ Suppliers’ ESG requirements are also on the agenda, with nearly 3/4 (74%) of firms building ESG conditions into their procurement strategies The findings come as ESG transition plan disclosures, which include how firms identify, assess, and manage environmental and social related risks and opportunities, are set to become mandatory for many UK companies later this year. Make UK have published their latest report ESG in Manufacturing: Growth, Supply Chain Cooperation and the Future of Sustainability in the Industry, in partnership with Lloyds Bank/Bank of Scotland.   It reveals how almost 2/3 of Britain’s manufacturers have set Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) targets for their business, an increase of 48% since 2021.    More than 3/4 (77%) of firms are receiving ESG requests from their customers, but less than half said they have the resources required to meet them.   Suppliers’ ESG requirements are also on the agenda, with nearly 3/4 (74%) of firms building ESG conditions into their procurement strategies   The findings come as ESG transition plan disclosures, which include how firms identify, assess, and manage environmental and social related risks and opportunities, are set to become mandatory for many UK companies later this year. Why does ESG matter and how does it drive sustainable practices for supply chains? Spent a fantastic day at Lloyds Banking Group’s Sustainability Summit. It was so inspiring to see how core sustainability is to Lloyds’ purpose and values. I was fascinated to learn from so many experts on how to make sustainability part of an organisation’s infrastructure and how it can drive business growth and opportunity, not just be a compliance/ regulatory requirement. It gave me a lot to think about, especially how we at Board Intelligence can help drive high quality thinking within organisations to ensure the right information is in the right places to drive a culture of sustainability.
