To perform successful live-cell imaging experiments, using the right platform is critical. When choosing an optical microscope for live‐cell imaging, the following 3 variables should be considered: detector sensitivity (signal‐to‐noise ratio), specimen viability, and image-acquisition speed. Methods suitable for live-cell applications enable visualization of the dynamics without causing cell damage, as it can affect the results. #leicamicrosystem #separations #livecellimaging #Microscopy

Our new FV4000's confocal laser scanning microscope introduces the remarkable SilVIR detector, packed with benefits that redefine imaging standards. With multicolor imaging capabilities, high sensitivity, and an exceptional Signal-to-Noise (S/N) ratio across visible to near-infrared wavelengths, it's a game-changer. Sharing and reproducing imaging conditions is now easier than ever as image brightness can be quantified as the number of photons. We believe the SilVIR detector specifically will pave the path for the next era of laser scanning microscopes, overcoming challenges and embracing rapid advancements. Multispectral imaging is NOT the same as hyperspectral. A true hyperspectral imaging solution will check these boxes: - Hyperspectral imaging reflects light from specialized lamps onto the product being inspected as it travels on a conveyor belt. - The reflected light is then sent through a high-efficiency holographic grating in the spectrometers (think of it like a prism). - The information generated by the reflected light is recorded by a high-speed camera in 500 different continuous wavelengths. - This creates “chemical fingerprints” of whatever is on the conveyor belt, including the product and any foreign materials present. Explore the capabilities of each technology and how they compare in this post on our website: https://bit.ly/3oVdAd3
