Hello everyone,my name is Stephanie Teresa Nelvina and I got the opportunity to interview Mr. Cristian Fernandes about his job as an regional sales in PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia 1. How did you attain your current position in the company? I attained my current position in the company by building a strong network of contacts within the industry. I attended industry events, joined professional organizations, and volunteered my time to help others. This helped me to meet people who could help me advance my career. 2. What steps did you take to secure this position? Once I knew that I wanted to apply for this position, I took steps to ensure that I was a strong candidate. I researched the company and the position, and I developed a tailored resume and cover letter. I also practiced my interview skills so that I could make a good impression. In addition, I worked hard to build relationships with people in the company. I attended company events and reached out to people on LinkedIn. I also made sure to network with people in the company who could provide me with insights into the position and the company culture. 3. For individuals aspiring to attain your position, what would you recommend they do? I would recommend that individuals aspiring to attain a regional sales representative position do the following: Build a strong network of contacts within the industry. This will help you to learn about opportunities and meet people who can help you advance your career. Develop the skills and knowledge you need to be successful in a sales role. This includes skills such as communication, negotiation, and relationship building. Practice your interview skills. This will help you to make a good impression and increase your chances of getting the job. 4. What are your strengths as a regional sales representative? My strengths as a regional sales representative include: Strong communication skills. I am able to clearly and concisely communicate with clients and prospects. Excellent negotiation skills. I am able to negotiate favorable terms for my clients and the company. Ability to build relationships. I am able to build strong relationships with clients and prospects.

Breaking Borders: Transforming from a Nigerian Sales Pro to a UK International Sales Advisor I remembered when packing my bags in Lagos, a lot going through my mind, the uncertainties The fear of the unknown Can you relate to this❓ At that point, I made up my mind that no matter where I find myself, I will be great. On getting to the UK, I started applying for #jobs, to all kinds of jobs. I reached out to a friend who told me the easiest jobs to get were factory and care jobs. I remembered telling her that I would love to work in a sales coy. She laughed at me, "it is not possible to get a sales job", I will need to revamp my CV by paying huge amounts to CV experts. She also gave me links to these CV experts who were charging close to £300 just to revamp a CV and also enroll you for an internship. This was the best way of getting a sales #job in the UK. I believed in my ability, I was good at selling and my #skills were top notch. It will come as a surprise to many that I NEVER paid that money. I revamped my CV myself and started applying for sales job. I was surprised to get an email from a top multinational inviting me for an interview. Wow, you should have seen the way I jumped up and started thanking God You would have thought I had gotten the job I was so happy because getting the attention from a multinational company was a big milestone. The next thing I did was to prepare myself for the interview, it was as though I was preparing for a tough exam. I stayed up late watching YouTube, reading interview questions. It was my dream and I needed to achieve it. Then came the first interview which was on the phone. After spending 30 mins with HR, he was impressed, he told me I passed and I was just amazing He invited me to the next stage which was face to face which was barely in two days I prepared with every inch of my being. I had gone through most of the you tube materials. The interview process in Nigeria is different from the UK, so I had a lot to learn. The day came for the interview, I put on my best corporate outfit. I got to the company an hour to the time just to get acquainted with the environment and possibly the #employees The interview went smoothly for over an hour Guess what ❗ I got an offer letter the next day. In October 2012 a recruiter told me that I had no chance of working in sales. Why? I had just moved to the UK from Italy • I didn't understand how sales happened in the UK • He clearly said that my English wasn't good enough for work So he suggested : Get a job in a restaurant.... you will make some friends your English level will improve doing 10 hours a day washing dishes. I told him that he was wrong. I told him dish washers don't speak English. I used that rejection as a propeller for my job search. In 5 months of hard work I was able to get a good sales job. A job that paid almost double an equivalent role in Italy. Moral on my story? If somebody tells you can't do something, don't argue with them, just go and do it anyway. I did it my way. Dear Salesman. In the course of my career as a salesman, I had to leave a job because I wasn't given a contract. I was employed as Business Manager for this company, I worked for 3 months without an offer letter, I kept requesting for my contract, at a point they brought one, I went through it, I saw red lines, I rejected it, I requested for an explanation and correction, while waiting for the contract letter, I had a very juicy offer, guess what, I took it and resigned immediately, I made it clear in my resignation letter that we had not contract, hence I will be leaving immediately, can you guess what happened? the laptop I was using before I left, I forgot to sign out, they logged into my email account and copied the email of my new employer and sent a mail that I stole company properties. Thanks to my HR then, she understands what was playing out, "Juwon dis man wants to pour sand for ur garri" that was what she said go and settle with him, you have 48hours and get a letter from him. I left Ikeja to FESTAC, I got there I was told he had gone to church, oh!!! I forgot to mention he was a pastor, a G.O, I waited for him, to cut the long story short, MD said I left when i wanted he will send the letter when he wants, we shall beg am before he gave me a letter, clearing my name of stealing properties that it was a misunderstanding. Do you know I learnt my lessons from that day to always my due diligence before picking up any job, I don't play with my mails anymore, I won't start a job without signing the needed documents. #TGIF #SALESMANIA
