Journal Entry #6- Team Huddle at Markaids
This picture captures our Team Huddle, where all of our team members make it a point to eat together once a month. It may sound easy and achievable, but when juggling our day-to-day responsibilities across four departments - production, quality, R&D, and material planning - coordinating everyone's schedules can be quite challenging, and it requires commitment from all of us.
We view these huddles as events we eagerly anticipate, not as obligations imposed on us. This is the time when we can deepen our relationships with our team members and unwind. There are times when we don't even have a moment to chat with each other. As I jokingly tell my team, my interactions usually consist of a morning "hi" and an evening "bye." Even then, I can tell if anyone is absent because their presence truly matters.
Our typical agenda usually includes welcoming or saying farewell to interns, celebrating birthdays, intern presentations (those completing their internships share their learnings), checking in on each other's schedules, discussing leaves, weddings, new arrivals (babies), and simply enjoying each other's company while sharing jokes over a meal.
The highlight of our huddle is the sharing session, where we take turns to discuss something new we've learned from each other. Sometimes, these discussions get quite vulnerable or even humorous, but through this activity, we get to know each other on a deeper level.
If you're an aspiring Food Technologist/Scientist who is interested in an internship with us, we welcome applications year-round. Please feel free to apply via the email address below. While I can't promise that your internship will be all sunshine and roses, I can assure you that you'll gain valuable knowledge (and we offer a decent allowance too!).
Send in your resume for an internship with us : [email protected]
Note: If you have completed your internship with us, please feel free to leave your positive comments. If it was not an enjoyable experience (which I hope is not the case), kindly DM me; I would appreciate your feedback in both scenarios.
