Charles Augustus Lindbergh was an American aviator who in May of 1927, made the first nonstop flight from New York City to Paris, a distance of 3,600 miles (5,800 km), flying alone for 33.5 hours. His aircraft, the Spirit of St. Louis, was designed specifically to compete for the Orteig Prize for the first flight between the two cities. Although not the first transatlantic flight, it was the first solo transatlantic flight and the longest at the time by nearly 2,000 miles (3,200 km). It became known as one of the most consequential flights in history and ushered in a new era of air transportation. Canada commits to buying 12 new conventionally-powered, under-the-ice #submarines - a massive acquisition with numerous #shipbuilders from the around world already eyeing the program reported to be worth at least $60 billion Canadian dollars. Canada wants a new class of submarines to replace its four aging Victoria-class boats. The list of interested #shipbuilding companies include Saab’s new C71 ‘Expeditionary’ sub (Sweden), and Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems' 212CD class sub (Germany). With the JV between EDGE and FINCANTIERI a new era is born in the history of naval development!

Cirrus, the leading American light aircraft manufacturer has built a new Aircraft! But it is not for America or even Cirrus... It is for the Chinese Market (including Military training) because the Chinese Government bought Cirrus in 2011 following the 2008 Great Recession. Cirrus refers to them as "The Shareholder". Another innovative aviation company, ICON, is accusing their Chinese shareholders of sabotaging their company with the goal of technology transfer. This comes at a time when EVTOL companies are increasingly asking the government to fund their operations under the auspices that we need to continue leading in Aerospace against the backdrop of a great power competition with China. This has come in the form of "Innovation" grants and military orders for aircraft with no military mission capabilities. While EVTOL might be the future, Cirrus is the here and now. According to the #LeiriaEconómica, construction work on #Portuguese soil is being carried out by OGMA-Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal, SA 🇵🇹, a company that has a partnership with Embraer 🇧🇷. The Portuguese company was responsible for manufacturing the 10 panels that make up the KC-390 fuselage. When these parts are ready, they are sent to Brazil to the Embraer plant in Javio Peixoto, where final assembly of the aircraft takes place. Portugal stands out when it comes to the KC-390, as it became the first international country to purchase the Brazilian military cargo ship. The agreement between the two countries was signed in August 2019, a month before the delivery of the first 28 KC-390 aircraft to the FAB at ALA 2 in Annapolis.
