March is Women’s History Month! 👩🏼👩🏻🦱👩🏾🦱👩🏿👱♀️👵🏽 Yes, we’ve come a long way. But there’s also a long way to go! March is a great time to celebrate all the amazing women in your life and to dedicate some time and energy to uplifting women as a whole. Cool ways you can do that this month include: reading books by female authors, listening to music by female artists, spending time learning about influential women – past and present, etc. Of course, you don’t need to wait for March every year to do these things, but this is a nice time to make this a new habit or to reshape your mindset to be on the lookout for ways to amplify the fierce females you know! Who are some of the women you look up to? Those you know personally, be sure to tell them. Those who are experts, authors, trailblazers, musicians, creatives, etc., tell us in the comments so we can go check out their stuff! P.S. if you need some inspo or are just feeling like some trivia, check out this article, which will give you at least 40 different groundbreaking women to learn more about this month (and beyond). https://lnkd.in/gQdAvMyi

This is the kind of tangible Inclusion focused action steps and strategies we need to push back on all the “anti woke rhetoric, anti DEI”efforts being pushed to discourage the dismantling of systemic, structural and institutional barriers that prevent true racial equality and equity.

One thing I love about cozy mysteries? Most of them feature women as the main characters–and they are the detectives, the masterminds and the heroes of their own narratives. As we enter Women’s History Month, I love to think about the women voices who have made literature, and especially the mystery genre, what it is today. And about the other women who had their voices muted or obscured by the prevailing narratives of their time. In the work I do, I love to watch more women take ownership of their creativity and their self-expression. Women, in particular, often face unique challenges in finding their voices and asserting their stories in a world that can be indifferent or even hostile to their perspectives. But through mentorship and guidance, I see them reclaiming their narratives, embracing their creativity and creating their own paths with confidence and purpose. This month–and all months–we must celebrate the achievements of the women who have paved the way for us but also commit ourselves to amplifying the voices of those whose stories have yet to be told. We need to recognize that every woman contributes to our collective human experience. Let’s celebrate resilient, creative, empowered women on ALL the days. 💪
