Buildings account for 40% of the EU's energy demand, presenting a significant opportunity for energy savings. However, the current renovation rate of just 1.2% per year remains a major challenge. To boost renovation rates to 2-3% annually and meet climate targets, effective solutions need widespread demonstration and replication. This requires reducing renovation costs and disruption for occupants. EU-funded research through the #Horizon programme is delivering consumer-friendly, cost-effective, and faster technologies and approaches to accelerate deep energy-efficient renovations across Europe's building stock.
