Founded in early 2021 to address the gap in short-term financing for startups, Gynger has tackled this challenge and the challenge that enterprise SaaS companies face with offering flexible payment terms to their customers. Gynger empowers businesses to finance, pay, and manage their technology spend. By providing access to unsecured lines of credit, companies can extend their runway and preserve cash, while enabling enterprise SaaS providers to offer flexible payment terms. Our journey incubating Gynger has provided invaluable experience in finding product-market fit, defining go-to-market strategies, and scaling rapidly in today’s market. Why would QED Investors, Union Square Ventures, and other VCs invest $245 million in a holding company that buys Main Street enterprises, such as a notary service in Pennsylvania and a butcher shop in Minnesota? New York-based Teamshares raised a $124 million in a Series D round this summer. The company previously kept its funding history quiet. A focus on boosting employee ownership and using software to improve efficiencies piqued venture interest in Teamshares, which also plans to develop fintech products, such as banking and insurance, catering to small business needs. The company has to contend with plenty of challenges now, such as slowing growth due to tightening credit markets, as well as all the difficulties of running a diverse range of SMBs in America - ie labor force shortages, supply chain delays, and inflation. https://lnkd.in/euK_prwZ

Greylock Partners unveiled two new endeavors yesterday: A $1 billion early-stage fund — its 17th — and Greylock Edge, a program to support founders developing ideas into companies with early revenue and product market fit. Flourish Ventures, an early-stage venture firm investing exclusively in fintech companies in the U.S. and emerging markets, has secured $350 million in fresh capital, bringing their total assets under management to $850 million. Unlike traditional venture outfits, Flourish is an evergreen firm, with a sole LP in eBay founder Pierre Omidyar, and a mission to not only provide a commercial return, but also to "create systemic change" and help "build a more fair financial system". #Fintech #VentureCapital #EmergingMarkets

Bavest, a Frankfurt/Munich-based business-to-business FinTech firm, has announced raising €1.1 million (about $1.2 million) in a pre-seed funding round, signaling strong market confidence in its innovative financial infrastructure solutions. The investment round draws support from a notable group of backers, including Bitpanda co-founder Christian Trummer, rezooM Capital, Nautic Ventures, Jens Rehwinkel, Dieter Staib, along with senior figures from leading consultancies and the FinTech sector. These investors are not only providing capital but are also offering strategic guidance and product development expertise to Bavest’s founding team, according to the announcement.
