Attendees will gain a clear understanding of how to navigate the County’s website to find bidding opportunities, register as a vendor, and submit bid documents. Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson, on behalf of the Board of Commissioners, recently celebrated and recognized July 2024 as Park and Recreation Month in Gwinnett County. The County's award-winning parks system offers countless opportunities for fun and leisure to more than one million residents with nearly 10,000 acres of parkland, numerous recreational facilities, classes, special events, and activities for all ages. We encourage residents of all ages and abilities to celebrate with their community at various County parks throughout July.

Gwinnett County has just achieved a major milestone! The Water Tower's biotech laboratory and manufacturing activities, as well as the highly anticipated Rowen initiative with appropriate zoning for biotech uses, positioned us to earn our BioReady® Community status. Our dedication to fostering the biotech sector and providing top-notch infrastructure makes Gwinnett a perfect hub for life sciences research and development.

Last Friday, we celebrated the students who graduated from our Empower Gwinnett summer internship program. The program allows students to experience different career paths, learn about their local government, and gain leadership and team-building skills. Congratulations to our interns for this huge accomplishment!

The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners will consider keeping the General Fund millage rate the same as last year, at 6.95 mills, during their next business meeting on Tuesday, July 16 at 2:00pm. Two public hearings will take place tomorrow, June 27 at 10:00am and 6:30pm. The final public hearing will be Tuesday, July 16 at 11:00am. All three public hearings will be held in the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center auditorium in Lawrenceville.
