Today, more than 50 companies joined Whisper Aero for its inaugural Supplier Summit at its headquarters in Crossville, Tennessee. The one-day event provided an exclusive opportunity for suppliers to connect with the Whisper Aero team, meet engineers working on ultra-quiet, ultra-efficient propulsion, and receive the new Supplier Handbook. The summit attracted companies specializing in batteries, motors, power electronics, metallics, composites, and engineering polymers. Patrick Brew, part of the Whisper Aero team organizing the event, emphasized the importance of building stronger connections with both existing and new suppliers. “This event is about finding better ways to connect with our supply base,” said Brew. “We want to get to know them better, explain where the company is heading, and what partners we need. By having everyone at our facility, we can share more information than via Zoom or phone calls.” The summit aimed to address all markets Whisper Aero is involved in, including defense (DOD), aerospace, and consumer products. The company has engaged with a wide range of suppliers, from experienced aerospace quality providers to those focused on affordability. Ian Villa, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at Whisper Aero, highlighted the strategic importance of the event. “It’s exciting to bring both big and small players together. It’s about building the best possible product with the right strategic partners. Sometimes that means working with large companies with vast resources, and other times it’s about smaller teams that match our pace and mindset.” For companies that missed the application deadline, Whisper Aero plans to make the Supplier Summit an annual event. Villa added that companies can still reach out for a supplier handbook after the event. Dingli to fully acquire MEC Dingli is set to fully acquire US-based MEC Aerial Work Platforms, in a deal that will initially see it extend the 25% share it currently has in the company to nearly 50%. MEWP specialist MEC, which has been established for more than 45 years, and Dingli became manufacturing partners in 2016 before the relationship was enhanced with the minority ownership stake in 2018. China-based Dingli’s further investment in MEC brings its total ownership to 49.8%. The plan is then for Dingli to buy the outstanding shares of MEC and take entire ownership of the company. According to MEC, the synergies between the two companies has led to rapid growth and advances in innovation, including the introduction of MEC’s Micro Scissors, Leak Containment System and scissor lift Xtra-Deck. David White, President of MEC said the company will now be able to expand its US facilities with additional investments, including in a California-based research centre and an East Coast parts center. “Dingli’s manufacturing expertise and quality is truly world class and industry leading. We have had a great partnership unlike any I’ve seen in my 30-plus years in this industry and I am truly excited for our future together.” White added, “Because we’ve been working together so long already, it is business as usual but elevated with greater synergies and working capital to achieve our mission of Better Solutions for this industry in safety and productivity.” “The MEC team you have placed your confidence in will continue to bring innovation to the industry through carefully listening to your challenges. When founded by Jessica Schmiede, Andreas Hoffmann and Jan Kelling back in 2016, HASYTEC was created as a group of companies, existing of HASYTEC Holding GmbH as the mother company, HASYTEC Electronics GmbH as the operating company and HASYTEC D&P GmbH as the owner of all assets and developments. A bit later HASYTEC Scandinavia GmbH was founded to provide full attention and service to one of our biggest and most important markets among others. Recently we decided to merge HASYTEC D&P GmbH with HASYTEC Electronics GmbH. Why? We are 7 years on the market now (and a few days more 😉). ——————————————— We experienced quite an amount of ups and downs, typical for a start up. ——————————————— We operate the 2nd product generation, facing the next level already ahead of us. ——————————————— We increased the number of produced systems year on year. ——————————————— We increased turnover since 2022 in a very impressive way. ——————————————— We increased our team in the same impressive way. ——————————————— It’s time to take the next step and pushing the company up to the next level!
