🌟 Meet Jake Campos, our new Applications Engineer! 🚀 Jake brings a wealth of experience and a passion for sustainability. With a degree in Biological Systems Engineering and minors in sustainability and agronomy from Iowa State University, Jake has a solid foundation in engineering and environmental stewardship. Previously, he excelled as an engineer at Snyder & Associates, specializing in site plans and stormwater management. A standout athlete, Jake's leadership extended from being team captain of the ISU football team to his professional football career with the Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis BattleHawks. His dedication to football continues with season tickets to ISU games and coaching varsity offensive line at Ankeny Centennial High School. Beyond his professional and athletic achievements, Jake enjoys outdoor activities like camping, hiking, and traveling. His commitment to sustainability shines through his native prairie planting and landscaping endeavors, where he explores and integrates native plants. Welcome to the team, Jake!

We are THRILLED to welcome Ahlem Jebali to the GWT family! 🎊 Dr. Ahlem Jebali is an engineer with a Ph.D. in Biological Engineering from the National Engineering School of Sfax, University of Sfax, Tunisia. She was selected to receive a Ph.D. fellowship to conduct her doctoral research work at the University of Almeria, Spain. She also earned a M.S. in Fuel Processing Engineering from the National Engineering School of Sfax, Tunisia. In addition, Dr. Jebali conducted postdoctoral research studies at the faculty of pharmacy of Paris, France, and New Mexico Consortium, USA. Dr. Ahlem Jebali has over a decade of research experience in biotechnology and industrial bioprocessing. Dr. Jebali specializes in microalgal biotechnology, particularly in using microalgae for wastewater treatment, CO2 sequestration, waste valorization, environmentally friendly clean energy production, downstream recovery, and process development at the bench, pilot plant, and commercial scale.

“The algae grown to remove the nitrogen could also become a source for future bio-aviation fuels,” said Worley. “Pacific Northwest National Laboratory has a biofuels program, taking algae and turning it into crude oil. The governor of Washington is very excited about Pasco being a source for this.” Excited to be part of this project, it is a circular economy at its finest. Let's fuel the future sustainably.
