𝐔𝐊𝐑𝐈 𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐄𝐂𝐇𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐌𝐈 𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐌 I went to PhenomeUK last fall where the focus was on technology to meet the challenges of 21st century agriculture. But took in a great presentation by Simon Breeden talking about the need to support the technicians that bring the technology to life and keep the data flowing. Defining ,valuing, and developing the career path of technicians is critical to building and extracting value from the next generation of phenotyping (or any other science or engineering endeavor) . At Hiphen we are committed to developing early career researchers, but it takes an ecosystem level program to really nurture a countries talent like this ambitious program aims to do.

I was delighted to be invited by The Faraday Institution to speak about my career journey to their PhD Cohort 3 and 4. It's such a privilege to meet with such talented and bright individuals who are working at the forefront of battery research. I shared my journey from Biochemistry undergrad to Commercial and Partnerships Lead for a Battery start-up, Anaphite. Not necessarily the most obvious career journey, but it's certainly been an enjoyable one so far! Here are some of the insights I've learned along the way: ❓ If you can work out your "why?" and make career decisions that align with your why then you'll get so much enjoyment from your work 👩🍳 Find ways to maximise your opportunities and learn new skills - you can seek opportunities outside of your formal education or current role to gain new experiences 👩🔬 experiment with your career - try out new things, work out what you like and what you don't! 📈 lean into what you are good at and the rest will follow ⛷ embrace what you aren't good at - we need people of all skill sets and backgrounds to solve wicked challenges 👨👩👧 seek out mentors, coaches and sponsors to help boost your career 🤝 build and maintain relationships and networks - relationships make life more fun! 🧠 think about how you can raise your profile within your network - LinkedIn is a great tool for this What have you found helpful in your career? #careerdevelopment

Witnessing wonder one banana peel at a time: Inspiring tomorrow's scientists at Let It Shine Academy! Making a difference in the world of science starts small, with bright eyes brimming with curiosity. That's why we hosted our first-ever science fair at Let It Shine Academy (LISA), and the energy was electric! ✨ Our budding scientists dove headfirst into the fascinating world of life science, embarking on a quest to extract DNA from everyone's favourite potassium-packed fruit: the banana! From mashing mushy banana pulp to marveling at the tiny threads of life under microscopes, the excitement was palpable. Each step, each giggle, each "Woah!" moment reaffirmed our belief: igniting a passion for science in young minds is worth every ounce of effort. Because who knows? Tomorrow's groundbreaking discoveries, life-saving innovations, and world-changing solutions might just be born from a simple banana and a spark of wonder in a young scientist's eye. Research Forum presents Research Conclave on Global Transformation

One of the most pressing challenges facing European industry today is finding highly skilled individuals to tackle complex innovation problems.     One solution is our Open Innovation Challenges, which are not only attracting interest from prominent industry actors but are also fast becoming the ‘go-to’ for young professionals looking for real-life, hands-on experiences to increase their employability.     Through our network of 300 industry, RTOs, and academic partners, EIT RawMaterials is ideally positioned to connect with and offer young professionals the opportunity to work on the most complex challenges organisations face.     Consider Maria Victória Luz, a biotechnologist from the SINReM International Master's programme. She participated in our recent Atlantic Copper Resource Recovery Open Innovation Challenge, working on-site alongside seasoned professionals. This experience allowed her to gain invaluable insights and significantly boost her employability.     The head of talent management at Atlantic Copper, Sebastián Prieto Martín, quotes: “This Open Innovation Challenge allowed us to connect with almost 30 new, highly talented students over several days, all keen to apply their knowledge and make an impact. This is the beginning of a very fruitful journey, and we will be sure to re-engage as more innovation challenges arise in the future. We are pleased to announce that one of our B.Tech 1st Year student, Rhea Ishani Chemudupati, has co-authored a paper with me and Dr. Debajyoti Bose on the topic "Innovative approaches for carbon capture and storage as crucial measures for emission reduction within industrial sectors" in the prestigious "Elsevier Journal Carbon Capture Science and Technology". The journal has an impact factor of 10.4. The engagement of Rhea Ishani Chemudupati, a first-year Technology student with a strong interest in multidisciplinary research, is what makes this study so amazing. This enables the integration of information from several fields and sectors, resulting in a more complete grasp of complicated real-world challenges. Such efforts can help to address important global concerns by combining the knowledge of multiple teams and contributing to technical innovations that improve human health, safety, well-being, and performance. A multidisciplinary approach encourages collaboration, promotes sustainable development goals, and allows academics to more effectively address difficult challenges. In addition to her diverse skill set, Ella plays a major role in driving electrolyte and system development at our lab. With her experience in analysis methods and methodologies, she brings many insights to our team, ensuring that our solutions are reliable and effective. Please get to know Ella better as she shares her insights and experiences with us. - How would you describe yourself in terms of character and qualities that you consider most important for successful work? Ella: "I believe that sense of purpose and hard work help me achieve my goals." - What inspires you in your professional and personal life? Ella: "The result of my work, even small, always gives me strength and inspires me to continue working. Family support in this regard is also important to me." - What are your favourite aspects of working with the R.Flo team? Ella: "I enjoy interacting with the team. In my view, the most important aspect is how we solve problems and overcome difficulties together. As for me, accuracy, calmness, creativity, and the ability to smooth things over are useful in this case." - What are your greatest achievements or moments of pride in your life? Ella: "My greatest accomplishment was obtaining a PhD in wartime conditions. Some parts of the research had to be carried out abroad. The manuscript of the thesis was written in blackout conditions when access to electricity and the internet was not constant. I am proud of myself for not giving up and successfully graduating." - Beyond your work at R.Flo, what is important to you? Ella: "I find inspiration in doing sports, which helps me develop physically and maintain health. I am passionate about arts, sometimes I find time for painting."
