There are better ways to fly and photomap a cell tower, like using the smart orbit feature. But we wanted to demonstrate the ability to plan a mission around a 3D model in FH2. Flight planning around the model helps us achieve a "low" GSD and systematically capture the intricate details for a higher quality reconstruction. The first model we created, the centre of the tower was off resulting in some inconsistencies in the data capture. After processing the rough model, we used it to plan a more "tight" flight around the tower. This is essential for the UAV's precise landing on moving platforms. Impressed by the new Automated Powerline Follow function for the M350 and L2 drones! The seamless transition from single line follow to centered between the lines at the first tower is incredible. Even when the lines changed direction slightly, the M350 followed without any issues. This feature proves to be a game changer, ensuring uniformity across datasets and enhancing safety while maintaining a preset height above the lines.
