What is Greater Manchester's Violence Reduction Unit? Since its inception in 2019, the Violence Reduction Unit has worked with communities to understand how to tackle the root-causes of violence. The Unit is made up of experts from across the city-region including the police, fire service, health, voluntary sector and others who can piece together the challenges and strengths that need to be addressed in order to build a fairer and safer society.
