“Ezra missed out on a lot of things because he was ill. His first day at school, learning to ride a bike, his fifth birthday party.” Merley, Ezra’s proud mum. Meet Ezra. He's one of the amazing kids at Great Ormond Street Hospital featured in our new film. Ezra was diagnosed with a severe type of anaemia that caused his bone marrow to fail. He needed a bone marrow transplant and had to isolate for a long time. “We missed out on two years of family life. But GOSH and the services GOSH Charity funds really helped us. Physically and emotionally, GOSH was there for us, and that gave us hope. “The Play Team and all the staff helped Ezra forget about the serious stuff and allowed him to have a childhood in hospital but also the chance to dream big. “I’m so proud that Ezra now wants to be a firefighter when he grows up, a lifesaver, just like GOSH has been for us.”

Nerves? What nerves!? One year after her stroke, 93-year-old Sheila took to the skies last week as she glided over the Eden Project to raise vital funds for our charity. Not only that, Sheila wanted to show that life is there to be lived and that a stroke can be overcome. 👇 💜 👏

🧠 March is Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Awareness Month! 🧠 Did you know? In the United States, approximately 2.8 million traumatic brain injuries occur each year, resulting from various causes such as accidents, sports injuries, and military service. The construction industry ranks among the most at-risk occupations for TBIs due to the nature of the work and the potential for accidents on construction sites. Organizations like the Brain Injury Network (thebind.org)provide invaluable resources, support, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by TBI. During this awareness month, consider making a difference by supporting the Brain Injury Network. Your contribution will help fund essential programs and services aimed at improving the lives of those impacted by TBI. To learn more and donate to The Brain Injury Network today please use the following link (https://lnkd.in/gUbFB7iX). At my lowest point, two untrained, unregulated advocates interfered via social media, paralysing the joint constabulary open investigation." This week's appointments were definitely on a different level and tested our limits! We had 17 appointments, spread across 3 vets, 7 more than planned for the regular week-bringing our count to 113 for 2024! Let's look at some statistics from the week! -8 females, 9 males -3 pregnancies -2 pyometra -1 abscess, with infected foot -1 tail amputation -1 leg mass -1 in heat One thing we get asked a lot is how much we spend on appointments, and there are some folks that still assume that we can get surgeries for free. Though we understand that you may not be able to pay for your colony to get fixed, it does not mean that we want to turn you away. To be honest, if we don't help you when you are requesting it at 10 cats, personally, we don't want to wait until the colony starts multiplying! Below are the real charges from each day this week, TNR isn't cheap! 01APR: $218 02APR: $666.39 03APR: $1,125.00 04APR: $219.97 TOTAL=💲2️⃣,2️⃣2️⃣9️⃣.3️⃣6️⃣ Rest assured, when you donate to us, every penny is used to care for these sweet souls! We are always looking for new ways to raise funds!

Support a Family Rebuild Their Lives After Amputation Dear Friends and Supporters, We are reaching out to you today with a heartfelt appeal for help. A dear friend of ours, once filled with joy from a growing family and a fulfilling career, has recently experienced a life-altering event. Due to a severe infection, he developed gangrene in his foot, leading to the amputation of his leg above the knee. This devastating blow has taken away his physical mobility, his ability to provide for his family, and a significant part of his hope for the future. Despite this, his spirit remains unbroken. However, the financial and emotional toll on his family has been overwhelming. We are rallying together to help them rebuild their lives, restore their dignity, and find a way forward. How You Can Help Your donation, no matter the size, can make a tremendous difference. Funds raised will go towards medical bills, rehabilitation, and providing for his family's basic needs as they navigate this challenging time. https://lnkd.in/g-nMaxXj Why It Matters: This campaign is not just about money; it's about giving a family the chance to regain stability and hope. It's about showing that, as a community, we stand together and support each other through the toughest times. **Join Us:** Please donate, share this campaign with your network, and encourage others to do the same. Together, we can help this family rebuild their lives and find hope again. The fastest and easiest way to get rid of unneeded medical items is to donate them. Depending on the items, consider the following options for donation: A local hospice, nursing home, church, Veterans Affairs hospital, or Center for Independent Living Charities, including Alliance for Smiles, American Red Cross, American Medical Resource Foundation, Easter Seals, Med-Eq, MedShare, Project CURE, and United Way A local Goodwill store or Salvation Army Eyeglasses The Lions Club Recycle for Sight program, Eyes for the Needy, and New Eyes A local eye doctor who may participate in one of these programs Hearing aids The Starkey Hearing Foundation Hear Now program The Lions Club Hearing Aid Recycling Program, Hearing Charities of America, and Hearing Loss Association of America In some instances, charitable giving has the added benefit of being tax-deductible. Receipts can be given during an in-person donation or requested from the organization in the case of drop-box or mail donations.
