Talking the walk vs walking the talk. Today we recognize movements in our commitment to sustainability as we release our 2024 Sustainability Report Update. Our approach is to be grounded and deliberate about identifying and then acting on opportunities that enable us to make glass packaging even more sustainable. Our strategy is rooted in proven, scalable technologies, as well as marquee innovations – like the hybrid furnace we’re bringing to France in 2025. Beyond innovating the glass-making process, partnering across the value chain and strategically building local recycling systems across our footprint, we’re transforming our glass packaging offering as well. ✔️B0 Estampe – Our glass wine bottle with a carbon footprint and reduction plan certified by the Carbon Trust. It’s 22% lighter than the average wine bottle in the French market. ✔️Globally, our lightweighting efforts saved 24,000 tons of glass and more than 48,000 MWh of energy ✔️Working with our customers to (re)develop returnable, refillable glass bottles ✔️Enabling true circular and local economy with Cento per Cento Sicilia (also called the 100% Sicily bottle). The wine bottle is made in Sicily for Sicily with at least 90% locally recycled content Every step towards a more sustainable future matters. 🌿 Sustainability week at Tarkett: pragmatism in the spotlight 🌍 As we step into our Sustainability Week, I want to address a crucial topic: there is no magic wand to successfully achieve sustainability goals. Sustainability is challenging. The issues that underline it are complex and interconnected; the route to it is a journey. Progress on that journey is achievable, however. To ensure progress, significant investments are necessary. For instance, our suppliers are taking actions to electrify their process and shift to renewable energies. They also invest into recycling technology, and we are expecting good progress in the coming years. But sustainability is also a lot about being pragmatic. Together and now. By identifying local opportunities aligned with legislation and local realities to reduce the carbon footprint and contribute to Tarkett's global climate roadmap for 2030. Let’s not wait for the perfect solution or ideal conditions. Every local initiative, no matter how small, is a step forward in our collective journey. Every contribution is vital as we strive to succeed together in creating a more sustainable future. Join us in turning challenges into opportunities, and let’s make every action count towards our ambitious goals. Find out more here below: https://lnkd.in/dFGtXcKK

The long-term target of the Schoeller Allibert sustainability strategy is to be 100% circular by 2050. To make sure we stay right on track, in 2022 we decided to work with #Circulytics, a digital tool from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, that is designed to equip companies with the most comprehensive picture of their circular economy performance. We are proud to have been awarded an A- rating, on a scale of A to F. Achieving close to the highest possible score not only gives us great confidence about our approach but also encourages us to further accelerate circular solutions. O-I is committed to increasing recycled glass in our packaging - recycled glass is vital to a circular economy and offsets the demand for natural resources. We have several targeted initiatives aimed at growing and improving glass recycling by promoting best practices to improve environmental and economic impacts. We're getting creative to build glass recycling programs. Increasing the amount of recycled content in our packaging is valuable, not only to us as manufacturers, but also for our customers and consumers. ♻ The Asia Glass Ambassador Program is focused on increasing awareness around the circularity of glass, stimulating social impact, energizing economic development, advancing manufacturing aptitude, and achieving a sustainable future. We promote the benefits of glass, aim to improve glass recycling, and educate the public on how O-I uses recycled glass to make new glass containers – thus using fewer raw materials, less energy and reduces our carbon emissions. By choosing glass packaging from O-I, you're also choosing a sustainable lifestyle. Choose tomorrow, Today! 🤝 Join us, our O-I Asia Group of Glass Ambassador program for making positive impact and winning together on our common sustainability goals! Ahead of Economist Impact's 4th annual #SustainabilityWeek kicking off with the virtual day tomorrow, I wrote this thought piece sharing a vision of Accelerating Action towards Sustainable Retail. What does it actually look like from the perspectives of Products, Services, Customers, Employees and Measurement? How are companies already embarking upon these shifts? What's exciting is that a lot of this is already happening and there is a lot you can do today! I'd love to hear from people: which of these changes do you think are most important? Are you working for a company that's already on this journey? What else needs to shift to accelerate us towards a sustainable model for retail?
With the 4th annual Sustainability Week kicking off in the US tomorrow, we wanted to explore what a sustainable future looks like in retail. Check out our latest article on the shift to sustainable retail by our Lead Product Manager, Daniel Cunningham: https://bit.ly/4b2bbQ5 #sustainabilityweek #sustainableretail
