CMYK, RGB, Pantone, and hex are distinct color models with specific applications. CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key/Black) is vital in print, mixing these ink colors for a broad spectrum. RGB (Red, Green, Blue) is for digital displays, blending light colors. Pantone, a standardized color matching system, ensures consistent color across printing. Hex is a hexadecimal code used in web design. These models ensure accurate color representation in diverse contexts. Every so often we run into an issue with colors not ‘matching’. RGB (red, green, blue) is a color mode used for displays, like your computer screen. CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) is the color mode that is used for professional printing. There are more color options available with RGB than there are with CMYK. To ensure your design and printed pieces match, set up your file with CMYK. #printtip #rgb #cmyk #digitalprinter

From Gem Blastock @turquoisegem_home 💜 Did you know… Every product I sell through @turquoisegem_home is 100% hand screen-printed by me? (vote in my poll below👇 ) I’m the power behind all the prints, and this week I’ve been showing some of my screen printing process. It is a craft that allows me to blend my human touch with precision. Each step demands attention to detail and human intervention through a hands-on approach, from the designing phase to preparing the screen and actual printing. Imperfections inherent in my hand screen printing contribute to the charm, making each print unique. In an age dominated by digital technologies, my hand-screen printing adds an irreplaceable element of craftsmanship and soul to the finished product, making each piece a work of art in its own right. Before printing your designs, here are three things you should know! 🖨️🖼️ 1. Color Counts: Make sure that your file is in CMYK rather than RGB. Accurate rendition of color is ensured by this. 2. Sometimes, size really does matter: For crisp prints, establish a minimum canvas size (such as 4000 x 5000 pixels) and keep the resolution at 300 pixels per inch or above. 3. File Format: To maintain quality and avoid compression problems, save your file in a print-friendly format such as PDF or TIFF. Did you check these 3 things before sending your files for printing?? #graphicdesign #printdesign #printing

#TechTuesdays with Color Management Group Having the right tool for the job is a critical part of getting color management right. When you print on paper it's relatively easy to take a measurement with a spectrophotometer but what about fabrics or canvas or banner materials? Getting an accurate color reading on a material that isn't smooth is harder to do which means you need a larger sample area. This is why X-Rite introduced the i1 Pro 3 Plus measurement device. The wider aperture of 8mm means that a measured color swatch includes the peaks and valleys of rougher materials and averages those slight color differences into the measurement data. Find out more about the i1Pro 3 Plus by x-Rite on our website here: https://bit.ly/3RZjWVc #printing #packaging #colormanagement #color
