📣 URBAN FUTURE FORUM RECAP 📣 In the spring of 2023, UFL was awarded a grant from IN2 (the Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator, co-founded and co-administered by NREL) to host an event bringing together community based organizations (CBOs) focusing on climate and/or #workforce, #startups, #investors, and channel to market partners. With this grant, we hosted our first ever #UrbanFutureForum on June 25 as an attempt to forge meaningful connections and enhance transparent communication between #innovators and #communities prior to #deployment. This was a new type of event for us and we are grateful for the support we’ve received not just from the climatetech ecosystem but everyone who has shown genuine interest in moving the needle on the challenging but necessary questions that can help innovators, #policymakers, and more truly create a just transition. 🔗📰💚Read the full recap and panel highlights through our latest #newsletterhttps://lnkd.in/ei3tX9dW Huge shout to our incredible #speakers for making the event a success! • Abby Jo Sigal (Executive Director, NYC Mayor's Office of Talent and Workforce Development) • Adam Cohen (Co-Founder & CTO, NineDot EnergyAnnel Cabrera-Marus (Chief Program Officer, Green City Force) • Andrew MacCalla (CEO, Collective Energy Company) • Basil Alsubee (Program Manager and Climate Justice Advocate, We Stay Nos Quedamos Inc) • Brett Branco (Director, Science and Resilience Institute at Jamaica Bay) • Carolyn Kissane (Associate Dean, NYU SPS Center for Global Affairs) • Craig Wilson (Executive Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, NYU Tandon School of Engineering) • David Leezer (Engineering Manager - Retail AC and Innovations, Midea Group) • Eric Davis (Section Manager, Research & Development - Innovation Hub, Con Edison) • Jordan Bonomo (Senior Program Manager, Asset & Capital Management | Sustainability, New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA)) • Michael DiRamio (Assistant Director, Energy & Climate Equity, NYSERDA) • Michael Yee (Director, EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL TRUST FUND OF THE ELECTRICAL INDUSTRY) • Nan McKie (Resident Association Board Member, Woodside Houses) • Neil Padukone (Executive Director, NYC Manufacturing and Industrial Innovation Council (MaiiC)) • Paul Rothman (Director, Smart Cities IoT at the New York City Office of Technology & Innovation) • Sara B.
