In one sign of how central to its business this has become, Arm revealed in a regulatory filing last month that Apple has signed a new licence that stretches until 2040. It also claimed a 10 per cent share of the cloud computing market, thanks largely to Amazon, which uses Arm’s designs for the Graviton chips used in its AWS unit. At the same time, Arm has been trying to extract higher prices. The effort to boost royalty rates followed the introduction two years ago of the latest generation of its technology, Armv9, and echoed previous attempts to use transitions to justify higher prices, said Sara Russo, an analyst at Bernstein. Good overview of AI on Apple devices about 1.30m , how they miniaturized and optimized for local training and inference and how they offload to the cloud (OpenAI) when needed. That’s a lot of work and innovation to reduce data leakage.

It was all jokes & laughter when Bill Gates explained the internet in 1995. Why do we need this Internet Thing ? We already have Radio, TV, Tape Recorders and Fax machines. But here's what's rarely said about innovation 👇 (And investing in it) 1993: The World Wide Web is Launched. 1995: Bill Gates is ridiculed on TV for predicting the Internet will be massive. What's the point of having another way to communicate, watch and publish stuff ? (I would've thought the same at the time) 1998: Famous prediction the Internet’s impact on the economy will be "no greater than the fax machine". 2000: The Dotcom Bubble Bursts causing $1.7 Trillion in losses. Amazon nearly goes bankrupt. Microsoft's stock crashes 50%. Dozens of Internet Companies disappear. Fast Forward to now. 2024: 4 of the 5 Largest companies in the World are Internet Companies with a combined value of nearly $10 Trillion. Each is valued more than the entire loss of the Dotcom Bubble! We look back on Technology Breakthroughs and imagine an Epic Moment that changes everything. It's not. It's a subtle, gradual shift over time. The timeline is longer than optimists expect. More steps back than forward in the beginning. The steps back are seen as KO blows by critics. Even worse ? There are a lot more losers than winners. Bandwagon jumpers appear. Speculative Bubbles form. And sometimes, it really is a Bubble that never recovers. Or, it becomes undeniable with a few companies leading the charge.

Nvidia and Amazon had a mixed day in the stock market yesterday. While Nvidia saw a 0.2% rise and closed with a market value of about $1.78 trillion, Amazon fell 1.2% and ended with a closing valuation of $1.79 trillion. Interestingly, Nvidia did surpass Amazon during the regular session, temporarily making it the fourth most valuable US-listed company, sitting below Alphabet’s $1.84 trillion market capitalization. A reminder that AI requires deeeeep pocket$$$$$ ($10.7Billion a quarter) to play and the picks & shovels companies (semiconductor: Intel/AMD/Nvidia/Broadcom...) will reap the benefits initially. "Microsoft’s capital expenditures—primarily purchases of hardware and software—in the second quarter exceeded $10.7 billion, up 23% from the same quarter a year earlier and the highest quarterly capex in the company’s history" #AI #semiconductors #microsoft #nvidia #intel #amd #broadcom

👀Look Ma I was live on Youtube!☺️ 🚀Here is a summary of some new features and capabilities released from #Amazon #Monitron this past quarter and to get you jump start your #predictivemaintenance journey in 2024! ✅𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 If your asset types don't align with the default ISO machine classes offered by #AmazonMonitron, you can create custom machine classes for your assets. Once created, these custom classes are available to be assigned to all asset positions in a project. This the one that allow users to overcome the limitations of the non-AI ISO machine class alert system. You can now set arbitrary Warning and Alarm thresholds which will reduce nuisance alarms. When set properly, threshold based alarms are a great complement to the AI/Machine Learning early detection system. https://lnkd.in/gpScV_Z5 ✅𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝟏/ 𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝟐 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬 #AmazonMonitron TE1A195 Sensors are intrinsically safe, certified for use in hazardous locations (gasses, Class 1 / Zone 2) and certified for US-CA/MET, EU/ATEX, UK/UKEX and IECEx https://lnkd.in/g-y-tymb ✅𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐌 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬 #AmazonMonitron Sensors are certified for use in #US, #Canada, #UK, #EU, #Brazil, #Colombia, #Chile, #Peru, #Mexico, #Australia, #Singapore, #NewZealand, #Korea and #Japan. https://lnkd.in/g4B-cksz ✅𝐀𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭/𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 If you use AWS Cost Explorer, you can use these assigned tag values to get cost reports filtered to specific Amazon Monitron projects and sites. https://lnkd.in/gTzzz8dK ✅𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬-𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐒𝐎 Amazon Monitron supports all IAM Identity Center regions except opt-in and government regions. https://lnkd.in/gmAQ5izS https://lnkd.in/g8d7-9Ki
