You know an event was successful when attendees' key take-aways are inspiring and suprising findings of a product's versatile potential. For now: mission accomplished.
Innovation information inspiration = CA walnuts food industry event at Food Harbour Hamburg. That's the kind of after math we love! It was a blast welcoming over thirty R&D experts and marketeers to our innovation day 💡 at FOODBOOM GmbH campus to demonstrate what California walnuts can do and how they work perfectly well as main ingredient for meat and diary alternatives. Educational deep dives, delightful cooking sessions and suprising dinner combinations contributed to these valubale discussions in an exceptional atmosphere. This ingenious industry get-together was eventually topped by the honorable remarks of US Consul General of Hamburg, Jason Chue. Many thanks to everyone who helped making this event an outstanding success! And of course many thanks to California wines for the perfect wine pairing to the dinner! Vinexpo Paris was a great experience with interesting conferences and valuable insight of the State of the wine industry. Three days of great inspiration and tastings, that really boosted my vision of today’s Wine marketing and How to sell wine. Wine consumption and sales have changed and will for sure change even more. The global crisis, change in consumer pattern, increased costs, climate change, post pandemics and the need for a deeper understanding of going sustainable among many other very interesting topics, was the thread during these days. I particularly enjoyed Robert Joseph's eyeopener of the NoLo category as well as Vivino’s Heini Zachariassen revolutionizing story that took us down the path of Vivino's Direct to Consumer success. Systembolaget had a great presentation of Sustainability together with buyers from the UK among others. The topic is super interesting and important indeed and we all agree upon the importance of a necessary change that starts with the producer. I would have loved though to see a few producers of diferente sizes in that panel to get their take of the possibility to fully embrace all the steps to meet buyers’ vision of a sustainable future in wine distribution. Having the knowledge and experience of both the Producers’ side, and the Buyers’ side, there is a gap that need to be closed. Information, communication and cooperation of all players is key. #winemarketing #wineparis #stateofthewineindustry

This article does a great job of emphasizing the shift towards sustainability as a necessity rather than an option for businesses, especially in the wine industry. It clearly defines two drivers of the equation, between consumer demand and business imperatives, in simple terms. Thanks Damien Wilson for making the call for the wine industry to recognize and attend the U.S. Sustainable Winegrowing Summit. https://lnkd.in/gHQQ8Rkq

"Creating a whole new 8%-11% wine category is the very definition of industry-driven innovation - and is fraught with danger both for the retailers selling them and the producers willing to make them."
