We were thrilled to host more than 130 clients and contacts at our new offices this week. During the event, we discussed current trends in the fundraising market, covering sectors such as private equity, real estate, infrastructure, venture capital, and private credit. Additionally, we shared commentary on recent developments in tax, regulatory, and the US and European markets. A huge thank you to Michael Moore, Chief Executive of the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA), who provided candid insights into what the industry can expect with a new Labour government. The panel also included Goodwin Partners Michael Halford, Ajay Pathak, Andrew Pollock, Alexandrine Armstrong-Cerfontaine, Laura Charkin, Glynn Barwick, Bhargavi Mudakavi, John Ferguson, and recent hire, John Forbes Anderson. There was a welcome buzz over drinks on our terrace overlooking St Paul’s Churchyard. Look out for our focus events this autumn on debt funds, venture funds, and private funds for private wealth. #PrivateEquity #PrivateInvestmentFunds #RealEstate #Infrastructure #PrivateCredit #Secondaries #VentureCapital #Fundraising

Reach Capital | Private Assets Advisor’s William Barrett, CAIA shared his predictions for private equity deals, fundraising, and performance in 2024, in an interview with Preqin’s Grant Murgatroyd. William discusses the drivers behind the growing dissonance between large funds and those below the billion-dollar size cap, such as a more diversified LP base and larger budgets for placement agents and external advisors. On the infrastructure side, William explains why, despite a slow 2023, we expect the market to begin to pick up again in the next 12 months. Given our extensive experience across private equity, credit, and infrastructure markets, we enjoyed sharing a snapshot of our bet for next year. With the challenging fundraising market set to continue, we believe it is the ideal time for asset managers to make the most of external advisors and take every step possible to reach and exceed their fund targets. Please send us a message if you’d like to hear more about what we expect to see in the coming year – we’d love to hear from you. I want to share some thoughts about our recent success in transitioning many of our deals out of short-term and into long-term debt. This has really allowed us to focus on the future and not constantly put out fires. It’s also helped enhance cash flow and create overall health through our properties. Focused Capital | Real Estate Investor | Multifamily Syndicator | Helping others create passive income through selective real estate investments
I invested $1M of my own money before raising a dime from investors. Here’s why: I knew I would make mistakes I wanted to make them all with my capital first Mistakes like: - choosing the wrong contractor - underestimating Reno costs - not reading inspection reports thoroughly The first 2 deals were tuition Still ended up with great returns on exit Should the returns have been higher? Sure. Should have made $100k more than I did I wouldn’t change a thing Preserving Investor Capital is so important to me Once I had these big lessons out of the way, I chose to create a system to allow others to invest in our projects Today, our growing investor group appreciates this They are partnering with an operator that has been through the tough times What’s the hardest lesson you’ve learned in real estate?

25 Years Finance, Accounting, Private Investment Management | 🔷 9-Figure Track Record | Real Estate Investor | Numbers Nerd 🤓 | Car Enthusiast 🚘 | MBA & CPA
I regularly ask people for $50,000 or more. They willingly give it to me. I syndicate real estate deals, and these people are my investors. Real estate syndications pool money from multiple investors to collectively invest in a real estate project, allowing them to participate in larger and potentially more lucrative real estate deals that might be beyond their individual financial capacity. I raise capital by earning their trust and solving their problems. "Trust is like a vase. Once it's broken, though you can fix it, the vase will never be the same again." (Walter Anderson) The lessons I learned in my 20 years managing private investments for ultra-high-net-worth clients ensure I never lose my investors’ trust. Which of these lessons resonates with you the most? #multifamilyrealestate #passiveinvesting #realestate #investmentmanagement

At the halfway point in 2024, there are 24 announced M&A transactions in the UK Investment sector (each with an estimated value of £5M or more), showing a sharp drop in activity from the previous three years. The deal count in Q1 this year was substantially below the level reached in Q4 2023 and, similarly, Q2 of this year was less than half of Q1, so the trend is seemingly pointing downwards.
