📘 The Untold Story of Jack and Diane’s Career Prep Magic 📖 Meet Jack and Diane—two educators making a difference every day. Jack is a #teacher who loves turning lessons into real-life skills. When his students, like Johnny and Jane, connect what they learn in class to future careers, Jack knows he’s done his job. But he faces some challenges. With a packed curriculum and limited resources, fitting in career readiness activities isn’t easy. He’s always racing against the clock, trying to make every moment count. ⏰ Diane, the guidance #counselor, is the go-to person for career and academic advice. She’s passionate about helping students discover their paths and build confidence. Organizing career fairs and job shadowing is her forte, but it comes with logistical headaches. Juggling schedules, permissions, and transportation for each student can be overwhelming. She wishes she could give every student the personalized attention they need. 🚌 Enter Virtual Reality (#VR). For Jack, VR means turning his classroom into a hub of career exploration without needing extra time or resources. Jane can dive into virtual healthcare simulations right from her desk, learning hands-on without leaving school. 🚀 For Diane, VR eliminates the logistical nightmares. Students can engage in virtual job shadowing or gain more hands-on experience without safety risks, and she can track their progress and provide personalized guidance—all in real-time. 📊 With VR, Jack and Diane can help their students explore career paths in a whole new way. It’s about breaking down barriers and giving every student the chance to find their future, no matter the limitations. Jack and Diane might be best known from the John Mellencamp song, but in education, they're on the front line of connecting students from classrooms to careers. Curious how VR can revolutionize career readiness in your school? Let’s connect and explore the possibilities! 🤝 #CareerReadiness #VirtualReality #Education #FutureOfWork

Companies are still trying to understand AR/VR technologies. Still, only a few people own a V.R. headset, and many are still trying to decide whether to purchase one. As it is, most people I know think AR/VR is nothing but game development; I need help explaining the potential of the technology to them. In Africa, for example, 90% of software engineers are full stack, and many have never worked with unreal engine or unity, nor do they have the intention of working with these tools; I feel that for AR/VR to scale, first, headsets must be affordable and light/compact, and more VR/AR apps that are not just game based but product based should be developed. AR/VR developers must start building apps like Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube, and the rest for V.R. People need to use V.R. headsets the same way they use iPhones for productivity.
Are you a #SoftwareEngineer/ #Developer and considering to make some changes in 2024? Here is some very interesting #salary data to look into!🌟 ✨The VR/AR industry continues to be one of the industries paying the highest salaries. At XR Bootcamp, we're excited to offer scholarships and complimentary career consultations in our upcoming info session. Don't miss this opportunity to explore your potential career switch. 🚀 The table shows the top-paying software engineer roles and how salary levels increased compared to last year (2022). Happy New month, and welcome to Q3! ✨ It's been a minute on here, I know. But trust me when I say that my 'inactivity' actually wasn't inactivity. The last part of Q2 was for background plans, clarity meetings, upskilling and setting up structures. And now, it's time to implement. 🚀 But on the flipside, it's funny how I've been so pumped about Q3 since June, but now that it's here, I'm beginning to have second guesses, and beginning to overthink and overanalyse my plans. It's called analysis paralysis. This is one of the most common of our vices as professionals looking to make impact. It stops us in our tracks and makes us question everything till we're doubting ourselves and postponing our big (or little) moves because we're 'afraid of failing'. In Q3, be ready to: 🌺 do it afraid, as Ivy Elebesunu would say, 🌺 take leaps and moonshots in your career, not minding 'what people will say', 🌺 stay consistent, because consistency keeps you visible, and visibility puts you in the faces of people who can connect you to opportunities, 🌺 build/maintain a good network and a good team. If I didn't have the amazing team I did: Obinna Duru, Cyril Emmanuel, Chijioke Victory and Victor Chigbo, most of my career leaps wouldn't be possible. . So, let's take on Q3, remembering to just DO IT AFRAID. 💪🏾✨ P.S. I'm excited to roll out my career updates as we go along! 😊 #baeintech #techcreative #motivation

Unlocking a future full of possibilities starts with identifying what sparks excitement. This week's #TransitionTip is to begin the journey of career exploration by discovering interests: ☑️ Initiate Casual Conversations: Start with casual chats about different professions. Ask questions like, “What job do you think would be fun to do every day?” or “Do you know what job allows you to work with animals/invent things/help people?” ☑️ Use Visual Aids: Bring in visual aids like books, videos, or online resources showing people in various careers. This can help make the idea of different jobs more tangible and engaging. ☑️ Play "Career Day" Games: Organize a "Career Day" at home where you both can dress up as professionals from different fields. Discuss what each job involves and the types of tasks they might do. ☑️ Encourage Exploration through Play: Use toys or games related to different professions to encourage imaginative play. For example, building blocks can be used to explore engineering or architecture. ☑️ Reflect on Enjoyment: After each activity, talk about what aspects were enjoyable. Was it solving problems, being creative, or helping others? These insights can guide further exploration.
