Raising awareness of suicide and suicide prevention is a priority for all of us. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates more than 700,000 people die due to suicide each year and that almost 77% of all global suicides occur in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Today, we elevate the resources available for those who may be struggling. https://bit.ly/3QYhquZ

Did you know May is #CoeliacAwarenessMonth? This month, we shine a light on coeliac disease, an autoimmune condition affecting roughly 1 in 100 people in the UK, where gluten consumption triggers an immune response damaging the small intestine. Unfortunately, many cases go undiagnosed for years, leading to a range of health problems. Why Should We Care? Raising awareness about coeliac disease is crucial for: - Early diagnosis: Recognising the symptoms (e.g., bloating, fatigue, diarrhoea, headaches, and so much more) and seeking medical advice can significantly improve quality of life for those with coeliac disease. - Greater understanding: Educating others about the challenges of living gluten-free fosters inclusivity and ensures access to safe food options in social settings and workplaces. - Supporting the coeliac community: Organisations like the Coeliac Society UK provide invaluable resources and support networks for people living with this condition. How Can You Get Involved? - Educate yourself: Visit the Coeliac Society UK website (https://lnkd.in/eXC6GH2) to learn more about the disease, its symptoms, and how to manage it effectively. - Spread awareness: Share this post or relevant information from the Coeliac Society UK to raise awareness among your network. - Support those living gluten-free: Whether it's a colleague, friend, or family member, being understanding and accommodating dietary restrictions can make a big difference. Together, we can all create a more informed and supportive environment for those living with coeliac disease.

When we come together as a community, we can truly move mountains. Last year, Novartis US launched engAGE With Heart with the Global Coalition on Aging – a first-of-its-kind program being piloted in Baltimore’s community churches and senior centers, to help improve cardiovascular health and reduce disparities through education, preventative screenings, and addressing social determinants of health. Like many other complex societal challenges, there is no single solution to reducing the footprint of heart disease and heart health inequities. The only way forward is through partnership between public and private stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem - by better understanding the needs of those impacted by heart disease through listening and leveraging trusted voices. Collaboration and co-creation with the community are the foundation of the engAGE program. And it is heartening to see the difference we can collectively make when we come together united by a shared purpose and in service of a greater good – helping people lead happier and healthier lives. Check out this special photo feature to see how we are helping build a healthier Baltimore, together. #HeartHealth #CVD #HealthEquity #Novartis https://lnkd.in/et-nXAYQ

🌟 Today, on Rare Disease Day, let's shed light on the significant impact of rare diseases in Europe. Did you know that up to 36 million people in the EU are affected by rare diseases? Despite their individual rarity, collectively, they pose a considerable health burden. some data: Over 6,000 identified rare diseases Around 300 million people worldwide affected 80% of rare diseases are genetic in origin 30% of rare disease patients won't live to see their 5th birthday because the majority starts in childhood! 💡 Why is it crucial to address this issue? For patients, tackling rare diseases means more than just medical treatment. It's about access to accurate diagnosis (also thanks to good ivd device) specialized care, and support networks. It's about advocating for research and innovation to improve treatments and quality of life. Let's unite to raise awareness, support research, and ensure that no one affected by a rare disease feels alone or overlooked. In this framework i would like to recall the interesting current work done under #bepresidency with the project called NEED, because the need of patients is not only related to medicinal products but it is broader than it and it is also question about social need for patients! #RareDiseaseDay #ShowYourRare #PatientSupport https://lnkd.in/eaFr-4vF

Hi folks, I am deeply passionate about helping people manage their medication. I have seen the impact personally with friends and I am eager to learn from the experiences of others in this area. I have created a very short survey aimed at individuals with Type 2 Diabetes and/or their carers, and I would like to have about 50 relevant responses before the end of the week. Your shares and repost would be greatly appreciated! 🤝 See the link below - https://tally.so/r/3qdO8Y Daniel #Type2Diabetes #MedicationManagement #NHS
