Play & Autism Advocate

I was thrilled to be asked by Richard Derr to compile a list of autism friendly toys that I found at the recent ASTRA Marketplace & Academy. While I believe all toys and games provide incredible developmental benefits (after all, play is FUNdamental), I focused on new items that pack a serious punch developmentally, specifically for the autism and I/DD community. I also used my 7 years experience as a buyer for Learning Express Gifts to choose products that are low risk to retailers because they have mass appeal, great price points, easy selling features and play patterns that are easily modified or enhanced to serve individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. It makes my heart incredibly happy to have retailers interested in stocking products that serve this community of amazing humans that I love so dearly. I hope you all find this helpful in your journey to provide the most inclusive shopping experiences possible for ALL. Goliath Fat Brain Toys Crazy Aaron Enterprises Melissa & Doug Nova Toys LLC.
