The market for remote opportunities is extremely competitive right now. Here's one thing you can do to be in the top 10% of applicants: 1) Research, Apply, & Find Hiring Manager After you apply, message the hiring manager directly, letting them know you applied. Example: “Hi John, I love what you and your team are doing and am very impressed with the growth you guys have been having over the last few years. I recently applied for the Recruiter (Remote Role) and wanted to see if you were the right person to speak to, or would point me to the right direction. I look forward to hearing from you, thanks again, and keep doing what you’re doing. Best, Applicant” 2) Follow up 48 hours later. “Hi John, I just wanted to check in again. I applied a couple days ago and wanted to see if you had a chance to take a look at my application or you could point me in the right direction. Thank you.. 90% of applicants aren't doing this. Take the extra step. Follow: Dante N. #jobsearch #hiringnow #sales #remotejobs #tiello

Attention recruiters and TA professionals! I have a question for you. Why do some companies post job openings as remote positions in nearly every large metro city in the US, instead of just listing it ONCE as a remote position in the United States? I've seen this happen several times, and I'm curious to understand the reasoning behind it. Can anyone shed some light on this? #recruiters #TAprofessionals #jobpostings #remotework

I work at a fully-remote firm. Meaning I'm buried by applications for all my open roles. 😟 This is not the first time I'm hiring for virtual positions, though. So I'm applying what I've learned over the years to this job. I want to share one big tip that has helped me manage the stress of piling applications with you all: Being selective about how I position my remote roles. An excellent way to control the overflow of candidates is to advertise your remote positions strategically. Jobs posts advertising a role as "remote" often tend to get an influx of applications from candidates all over the place. One easy tactic to make the candidate pool more manageable is to post jobs as "hybrid" rather than just remote, at least at first. You can always broaden the posting to remote candidates if you need to increase your candidate pool. I hope you find this tip useful! 😊🤍 #recruitcrm #rectech #hiringtips #recruiters #recruitment #remotework

📣 Job application tip: If you're searching for remote-only positions, avoid applying to location-based jobs or roles that clearly state "onsite." Organizations have their reasons for specifying these requirements, and attempting to circumvent them by getting your resume into the system or hoping to change the hiring team's mind is not appropriate. By doing this, you're only wasting your time and the recruiter's time. 🕰️ 🤫 Here's a little secret for U.S. job applicants: if the job location states "United States" in primary or secondary location fields, the role is "remote-friendly." 🌎 #jobsearch #remotework #jobapplication #jobhunting #careertips

Hey everyone, can we take a moment to collectively roll our eyes at the whole "remote but not really" job postings? It's like saying you're giving out free pizza but then telling people they need to buy a drink to get it. I've been browsing job listings today, well every day and it's like a game of "spot the hidden catch." "Remote role, but must live within a 20-mile radius" - seriously, why? "Work from anywhere, as long as it's within shouting distance"? What exactly is the point of even posting if you know it's not truly going to be remote????????? Then they wonder why they're not getting a flood of applicants. Newsflash, folks: nobody wants to commit to a job that claims to be remote but then sneakily slides in the "actually, we want you back in the office" clause. It's like trying to sell a cat as a dog - sure, they're both great, but they're not the same thing! FYI, dogs are way better! 🐶 So, instead of being upfront about it, they cast their net wide, hoping to catch a unicorn in their backyard. When swamped with applicants, it's like they are playing a never-ending game of "Where's Waldo" but with real people. Meanwhile, the poor candidates (ok ME) are left hanging, wondering if our applications got sucked into a black hole. At least send an automated "thanks, but no thanks" message. It's not that hard. Candidates are living breathing people with families, lives, and BILLS, gigantic wads of bills! Respect your fellow human, pretty please. I get it, it's an employers' market right now. If you hire me as your HR/People Operations person, I promise you won't have candidates feeling like they are lost in the Bermuda Triangle of job applications. I've been on the other side of the hiring process for too long not to feel for my fellow job hunters. Let's all agree to do better, okay? Because life's too short for misleading job postings and radio silence after applying. So, to all the organizations out there: let's make the candidate experience awesome. And to all the job seekers: hang in there, don't lose your sense of humor, and remember that the perfect job is out there somewhere, probably hiding behind a "remote" listing that means what it says. Keep the faith, my friends! #stillhustling #underemployed #candidateexperience #willworkforfood #humanresources #peopleoperations
